Jeff Vogel has remade the series with slightly better graphics, though still nowhere near good enough for the graphic ****s many gamers are today.

I believe he first RPG I played and really got in to was actually Runescape, lol. Though I don't play it anymore, I put a lot of time into that game.

Same here. Morrowind was my first, but it didn't crash on me as much because I got it on the xbox. I missed out on those nice mods though.

Mods aren't essential. They are nice, but you can easily play the game as it was first planned to be.

First computer RPG i played was Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven. I remember it took approximately two years to complete (of course several breaks included )

Strangely I have that installed on my comp (with an XP patch), never got around to play it though.
Mine was... *gasp* Baldur's Gate 1.
At least, I can't remember anything else I played, and that is classified as an RPG. I had mostly RTS-s before that.
I had my own computer from 1997, so my time to get into the RPG business before BG1 was limited...

Final Fantasy 3 was my first rpg...but I was 4, didn't know wth i was doing, and don't remember much about it.

The first RPG that I played was Deus Ex. However, I considered it a FPS, not even realizing that it was an RPG.

So, I didn't actually get hooked on RPGs until I played KOTOR, which was my second RPG.

If you count it as an RPG, Legend of Zelda. If not, Might and Magic. But I was 7 or 8 at the time I played it and was expecting something like Doom, and was sorely disappointed and gave up after a few minutes.
