King Pyral Harrowmont has returned to the stone after six years of rule, harrowmont was the only man other then gorim who believed me when everyone else deserted me and named me kin slayer, I will not let his legacy be forgotten.

I have been named king of Orzammar by popular vote in the assembly, it all seems too soon and I can’t stop thinking about Trian and father. Once the halls of the palace rang with the youthful laughter of Aeducan’s now I alone am left to walk these silent passages.

My beloved consort Mardy was busy organizing the coronation preparations today, she tells me I should leave the palace occasionally and that I’m far too like my melancholy ancestor Aeducan. Ancestors I love that woman’s spirit! She and little Trian were the only good thing I found on my return home, she nursed my child even when he was casteless and she could have discarded him. I still think of leliana every time I remember the old times before I came home, but that was six years ago and I have a Kingdom to look after now.

The Paragons spit on the Deshyrs and their houses! They sit in the assembly chambers debating dowries and fashion while our lands sicken without reform! I will see this Kingdom restored with or without their help. I did not drive the dark spawn past the trenches so these fools could sour our politics further. When I am finished I shall see that every noble house that meddles in murder and intrigue is punished and brought to justice, as it stands I might have to arrest most of the nobility. Ancestors how we have fallen!

The casteless will be given a chance to redeem themselves at last, I will offer them service in my armies I exchange for pardon, Bhelen had something similar in mind once i would have supported it had he not sent me to die in the deep roads.

The day of my coronation is close and my new edicts on trade with the surface will soon be passed by the assembly, the castles reforms will take more time but I will see them emancipated! Orzammar must not be allowed to stagnate again!

It is done I was crowned King Thorin Aeducan today, Mardy was so proud and Trian behaved himself long enough that I only had to pull him away from one fight with lady Helmi’s eldest. If the boy is already taking on Helmi children the darkspawn are likely to have a rough decades worth of beatings ahead of them!

After enough arm twisting and aggressive shouting to terrify an arch-demon into submission I managed to get those blasted Deshyrs to agree to pass the casteless reforms. It took nearly four years of work to get that passed Ancestors forgive me for I loved Harrowmont like a dear uncle, but his reign was damaging.

Received news from the thaigs today, Aeducan thaig is fully functioning again and cadash thaig was recently expanded to include new chambers. Gorim sent a letter from his Houses new thaig today apparently his son is growing everyday and his wife despite her reservations is fitting in well. The Fortress of Bownammar is standing strong and with casteless recruits on the way our borders will be secure for generations to come, provided we are vigilant that is.

Received word from the artisans at Caridin’s cross today the deep roads leading up to bownammar should be fully repaired by the end of the year at current estimates. Orta of Ortan thaig also sent me a letter claiming to have found many treasures buried in the reclaimed thaig.

Trade with the surface is booming, I cannot believe king harrowmont was foolish enough to ignore this lifeline! I sent messengers to my old friend Alistair who is now king Alistair of Ferelden, with any luck I shall have a reply soon.

Told the tale of the war against the Darkspawn in the hall last night, the reclaiming of our thaigs to be precise. Felt good to be telling my people a happy story for a change, so much of our history is filled with loss and defeat, the scars I gained in the thaig reclamations feel well earned.
