Hi all,
I hope this is the right place for my questions Posted Image but I’ve done some searching and I can’t seem to come up with anything like a solution to my problem so I thought I’d pester you all! Posted Image I am trying to make my own custom hairstyle to replace one of the female elf styles provided by the game. Working in Blender I have managed to model and bone weight a mesh that looks satisfactory but I’m not quite sure where to go from there....When I export the mesh as a .msh file (using the awesome NewbyPower’s script) and try to replace the original with it by putting the new .msh into my override folder with the same name as the original mesh I am replacing it seems like there is nothing there in game (i.e the whole hairstyle is missing and the back of the character’s head is invisible Posted Image).
By experimenting with the DATool (thanks to Adinos for that!) and extracting all of the files for an in-game hairstyle I have noticed there are many more files than I thought (.mmh, .pys, ect) which might also need to be replaced. What do I need to do to replace these when all I have is my weighted mesh file? If there are any tutorials that I’ve somehow missed they would be greatly appreciated. Posted Image

Also, can anyone tell me what I can do to get my hairstyle into the game in the same way that downloading More Hairstyles gets their hairs into the game? Something to do with the chargen file perhaps? (P.S Sorry if these are really n00b questions or if there is an obvious answer I’ve missed Posted Image)

NewByPower's script doesn't export an MMH, so will have to edit the one for the mesh you are replacing and add in your texture name and mesh group name (or edit the mesh group name in the MSH). PHY files control things like collision and aren't needed for hair meshes. I would assume the readme for his script should explain it all.

Luchaire was very helpful for me when I needed to get a head morph from the toolset into the in-game character generator list of pre-set heads. I imagine you could use the information to get a hairstyle into the game as well. At the very least, you could create a headmorph with your hair using his advice. Then you can change the face in-game if it's not exactly what you wanted.

All the information you need is on pages 1 & 2 of the thread.

Thanks for your replies! Posted Image I think I've got how to get the hair-style into the game now. Thank you, Torilund!  Posted Image DarthParametric, I'm not sure how to go about editing the .mmh file, any tips on how to do this? Posted Image

Open it either in the toolset directly or use the standalone GFF editor in the toolset directory.
