I was fine with Jack... and Tali.
No Alba or Fox. I don't want bad actresses in a plot that's actually more than decent and has better acting than most movies. Please... Just no.

You explained yourself nicely there - I'd just like to point out that "pretty" might be a better word than "beautiful" according to your definition. To be "beautiful" one needs more than physical looks. When I was 15 I watched Shirley Manson in Garbage's music videos and she blew my mind - her talent, her intelligence, and her attitude. She inspired me to be what I am. That's beauty. No matter how much you like Ms. Alba, I doubt she'd do the same to you, or anyone other than air-headed bimbos for that matter - they are just a cardboard for you to aspire to, not at all inspiring.Heyalrey wrote...
I'd take it further. You wouldn't just be looked at sideways for saying The Godfather 2 isn't a classic... you'd be wrong. The Godfather 2 is a classic whether you like it or not, and people like Meghan Fox and Jessica Alba are beautiful whether you like them or not.hex23 wrote...
Or, look at a movie like "The Godfather 2". Widely seen as a classic. Does it mean the entire world thinks it's a classic? No. But enough people think it's a classic that you'd be looked at sideways for disagreeing.
Full disclosure: I am not at all attracted to Meghan Fox, but Jessica Alba is in my eternal top 10.
Now, I am absolutely objective enough to tell you WHY I think Jessica Alba is gorgeous and am totally apathetic towards Ms. Fox:
Dark Angel was on tv in 2000. I was 15 or 16 when I first saw it. To a 15 or 16 year old who has never touched a boob, Jessica Alba is perfect in every way. At 15 years old, the prospect that a girl could have a loathesome enough personality to cancel out that amount of hotness is totally unfathomable.
I first saw Meghan Fox in Transformers. This was at the age of 24, with innumerable boob touches of experience behind me. At this point, most people have realized that having nice abs is not the only pre-requisite to sex-godess status. We're just harder to impress.
I'm pretty sure that if Megan Fox and Jessica Alba's lives had been switched - Fox had been the one in Dark Angel when I was 15 and hormonal - then I'd be in love with her not and apathetic towards Alba. That's just how it works.
By the time you're 35 if you still feel the way you do about Ms. Alba, than maybe she can be called beautiful; for now? Let's just settle for pretty. I don't mind pretty actresses, as long as I can distinguish the characters they play from how they are in real life. And that's why I personally would rather Ms. Alba or Ms. Fox were not VAing anything in this game - they simply don't have enough talent to make their characters come to life, and that'd throw me off big time.
