Zaeed gets the same reaction as Garrus oddly..

I can't help but feel the dialogue/story team was told Zaeed would work as fire team leader, but the coding team didn't. From a story perspective, Zaeed should do fine, he's led men into combat plenty of times. I stayed away from him, though, because I was like "I dunno how well DLC guy is implemented!"

It's true that he has had experience leading teams but then again, he also tells lots of stories about how he is the only on that survives missions. I think that he knows how to lead a team to get the job done but doesn't know how to keep a team alive.

If you pick Tali, she says something about her getting both of the squads she led killed.

So she basically removes herself from nomination?

Many of Zaeed's stories end with him saying "and I'm the only one who survived!"

He may be a good mercenary, but he's not a good leader.

I wonder what Miranda says if you choose Legion to be the fire team leader.

I'd imagine Grunt would have something similar to Zaeed.  Their both more of the lone ranger types that get the job done on their own.

What i meant was how little confidence she has in Garrus (not doubting but not confident either) compared to Samara but the end results proved otherwise.

I guess when she said 'at least he knows what he is doing' I took it for an endorsement.  I figured her reaction meant I had made a right choice.

This is coming from the same woman who says to Jacob "I'm never wrong" and then several minutes later on the Normandy says to Shepard "I make mistakes sometimes".

The point is she's up her own ass, can't be trusted to think rationally, especially as rationally as paragon Shepard, and is human despite her attitude about her modifications.

She also decides to pile your team into a shuttle and fly away when EDI is testing the IFF, even if you have nowhere to go.

Which Shepard warmly approves of!

That's plot railroading, really.

Miranda does have an ego and thinks she's the best for pretty much every job.  She's not necessarily wrong on her suggestions, it's just that she doesn't bother saying who is the best for the job.  Usually, that's up to Shepard to decide.  I.E. any biotic could do the biotic bubble but it's up to you to decide who is best for the job.  Same thing for the techie job as well.

Miranda has too high an opinion of herself, even despite implications that she is insecure, which is why I selected against her as an LI.

Actually Shepard was about to ask her to do just that and she had already anticipated his whim.

She is the voice of the devs in this mission, she is simply a vehicle for letting you know what your options are.  If she chose for you, well there would not be much for the player to do.

The things she is insecure about have nothing to do with her abilities in combat and getting missions done.  She gets the job done.

You might get to know her better she is really not that arrogant, but you have to come off as confident when you are a leader.

Miranda doesn't always deliver as a strategist, but she is a good tactician. When it comes to the master plan her suggestions are hit or miss, but if you select her to lead one of the squads she does it well and doesn't lose anyone. (or at least she doesn't if you've done her loyalty mission)

Yeah pretty much everybody is a biotic except Zaeed (a soldier), Legion, and Tali'Zorah.

But yeah, if she (or anyone else) held your hand through the whole suicide mission...what's the point? It's the player's decision.

(Though I can't resist pointing out she's right about continuing to build the team after the Collector Ship mission, and hitting the Omega Relay after the abduction.)

I already followed through her LI in the next playthrough as an infiltrator, and I was unimpressed. And her abilities in combat are pitiful, besides being an accessory. Most of the time she runs directly into enemy fire and dies. I don't think that degree of ability is very impressive at all.

I loved miranda in my squad when i was an infiltrator because of the 15% (?) damage boost, that plus stealth plus sniper and you could oneshot just about anything.

No, I mean Miranda says something along the lines of "Really, Shepard? She got both of the squads that she led killed." Stupid double pronouns.

She's just pissed cause she's not in charge. and thank god she isn't, NO ONE would be loyal to her and everyone would die.

Kinda cheap they basically tell you 'THIS IS A REALLY BAD CHOICE' but I guess reading her little blurb that should be obvious.

When she stated that the Fire Team leader should be "someone who can command loyalty through respect and experience" (clearly referring to herself), my immediate thought was "Garrus it is then, cause half the team hates your guts!" Imagine my amusement when Garrus voiced pretty much that exact opinion.
