so i waited to buy RtO. i read all of the sporadic reviews and waited some more.

well i finally made the plunge and bought RtO last night.

first of all heres my view on low priced DLC.
-if there is a quest and thats all there is, usually value is measured in time
-if there is something that you can use PAST the quest then the DLC increases in value

i found that RtO lasted more than an hour for me, maybe even 1h30m, because i always play on hard.
there are interesting lore and story bits strewn throughout the DLC and it actually was longer than wardens keep for me.

the verdict, i really enjoy shorter quests on the main map of DAO. it gives the option for for alternate sessions as opposed to only having three 5 hour quests. i rather enjoy having now, 3 DLC quests that i can play through every time i make a new character in DAO, which is often, so to place a 5 dollar value on this DLC is a very low price for me.

i was happy with wardens keep and actually more happy with RtO.

but im a HUGE DAO fan. it quickly became my number 1 all time fave game.

but even if your a few increments of obsessive below me then the DLC still is worth picking up. its an addition of a magazine to a bookshelf of novels.

for me, return to ostagaris a must have, even for someone less into DAO, for 5$ and cool gear you can use throughout still seems like a no brainer to me.

surprised at all the negative feedback to something that just adds a few more notches onto the DAO belt...

It lasts about 30 to 40 min tops even at nightmare, if you playthrough it at highlevel (18+).

I bought it for the extra items more than anything else & I am not complaining, becuase I think it's worth the $5.

But I think Fallout 3 had much better & longer quests for dlcs for a price tag of about $10.

So interms of gameplay I don't think it is anywhere near the top dlcs that have been published so far.

You call that a fence-sitter review? Its about as sychophantic as one would expect from EA's own execs :-)

Bioware should be paying you for such reviews.

i dont choose to be a super ass kisser of bioware, but when they make games like DAO i just cant help myself. therefore any content released for such a "perfect" game will by highly enjoyed even if its below par.

for me, DAO is the game i would make if i had the talents. it does every thing right from the beginning, and by the beginning i mean the choice in the rules system, the leveling customization and of course the setting via lore and mythology.

for me its right up there with king arthur, LotR, D&D all the fun worlds like dark sun, forgotten realms, ravenloft, dragonlance.

if i were to judge DAO as a "professional" reviewer i would caution that its not for everyone, but i will say that of all the RPGs i have ever played, it is the most complex and deep RPG that appeals more than previous games, to non-RPG nerds...

@coldcall, your right, if we shall debate semantics, i titled my "review" incorrectly, it should have been- "i waited to buy RtO, heres my thoughts".

but that doesnt mean i wasnt sitting on a fence to purchase just because i love this game.

im fair and balanced just like fox news!!!
