Seeing most people in this community are my type of gamer, I wanted to see if anyone had the chance to play any Bioshock 2 yet.  I loved the first one and even though the novelty of Rapture has worn off, the ability to wield both plasmids and weapons has me pretty pumped for this one.

Anyone have any initial impressions?

I bought the game today and so far i've loved it, wielding both plasmids and weapons is really cool. I love the level designs as well, it creates a spooky and foreboding atmosphere. I'm glad the Big Sisters have been introduced too, theres no way splicers could stand thier own now. I also like the way you have to protect the Little Sisters while they harvest adam and how they've introduced traps to do so.

Still no widescreen monitor support. I'll pass.

The first on is better. They added multiplayer so I found the single player lacking a bit...

I'll just repost my thoughts from the other BS2 thread:

I haven't made it that far yet (maybe 8 hours in, at an average pace) but unfortunately it feels like they did the bare minimum that they had to for BS2. BS1 was a great game, and if you liked that, you'll like this two, but the only thing that is really new here is a few different weapons, a few new enemies, and a storyline that takes the story from the first and swaps out the anarcho-capitalist ideas of the first for communistic ones.

It also feels a bit more action-packed, but unlike ME2, they took no steps to tighten the shooting controls, so this is ultimately to the game's detriment rather than its benefit. This also makes the multiplayer aspect not worth mentioning, despite all of the promise it would have otherwise had.

I kind of figured this would happen. Making a sequel to Bioshock was a bad idea, it really should have been a prequel, being able to experience Rapture's ruination in progress.
