I just finished jack's loyalty mission and as i was about to look around her room the mission ended. (first time it happened here)

the same thing happened on zaeed's mission, i just finished off the mech and it skipped to the end instead of showing the scene. this kinda sucked for me since i needed this part to get him back on my side. ( happened a few days ago)

I know this seems obvious, but are you skipping through cutscenes for Zaeed and did you tell jack that you didn't have time to look around? If you weren't doing that I need a little bit more information.

sorry i left that out, i normally include things like that when ranting about a bug.

i told jack she could take her time and then skipped through the text on the first time, once she was done talking i started to move and i was watching the shuttle sence. i reloaded and didnt skip the text and as soon as i started to move when jack was finished talking i ended up back on the shuttle.

for zaeed, after getting mad over it i reloaded and tried the mission again since i had no auto saves and didn't save. when i got to the end of the mission i did things differently. I killed all the enemies in the area before rushing across the bridge, last time i ran right at the heavy mech and then to the door once it was dead. it played the scene and i got to talk him back to my side and all was good.

I have only had the Zaeed thing happen once so far and it was on a different character then when the jack mission messed up on me, anything else i need to include?

I too have had that same problem with Jack's mission. Even if I chose the option that Jack could take her time, move one step to the side and the mission ends. While it's not a game breaking bug, it's obvious the mission wasn't supposed to end instantly either.

I've also encountered another possible bug concerning the Jack/Miranda fight. But that, I think, is unrelated to the above mentioned bug when finishing Jack's loyalty mission.

I'm playing the Xbox 360 version BTW.

just cuz i want to know, are you unable to talk them down even if you para/ren is maxed? (or really high )

cuz that happens when you take too long to do the mission.

Well, that is the case (though to be fair in my case, my paragon in this situation wasn't maxed. So you could say it's also due to it not being maxed). Still, given that it was 'close' to being maxed out, I thought i had enough paragon for at least the choice to be available.

Didn't realize that taking too long doing that quest could also be a trigger.

And I just did Jack Loyalty's quest again, and again chose we could take time. I didn't even have to move. It instantly ended when Jack stopped talking.

ya, taking to long to do something manages to screw up para/ren options.

I think it has something to do with increasing you para/ren between the time you got the mission and when you did it.

I can talk anyone down from something if i do it as soon as i start the mission but if i get it and do it later (like i forget about it) i will probably not be able to.

its kinda like how you cant use a para/ren option in a convo if you say the wrong thing. this has been a problem since ME1, with maxed para i couldnt always use the para convo option if i said something ren like or used a ren option in the convo.

I would like to add that NOT skipping anything allowed me to do the walk around on a different character.

>.> so either the skip command fracked up or it was just messed up on my vanguard chara

Heh. Coincidentally the character I was playing that was messed up, was my Vanguard (Paragon). I was able to do it in a previous Infiltrator character (Renegade). The previous character I didn't skip anything either only because at that time, I was playing it the first time and wanted to hear everything.

Not sure if this points to the source of the bug though (Vanguard? Skip command? Just messed up on X character?).

The only time I've had a mission end "early" was the Grunt loyalty mission. After fighting the final enemy there are lootable bodies and such on the ground but the scenario automatically sends you back to the krogan city without the option to loot any of the bodies.

that's not ending early, once the fight is over that's it.

gotta learn to fight and loot at the same time, like vorcha
