That's very impressive for a solo, even an AW. Nice.
Here's my no mage/potion version.
I thought of another really hard one--Caridin, if you bring Shale along as your tank. One extra golem to kill and no tank = trouble.
Very nice.

2. Archdemon is probably the most anti-climatic. Being the final fight of the game, it should have been a lot harder.

That has to be the hardest fight in the game. I don't think there can be any debate.soteria wrote...

Most overestimated battle -- it's a tie between Loghain and the Archdemon. Both were far easier that I was expecting to.

I think a lot of us had a bit of a *facepalm* moment when we finally noticed (or had it pointed out to us) that the rocks were "safe."
I actually had a bigger facepalm moment the other day. Started a new character to replay Ostagar (really paying attention to some conversations this time) and kept wondering where the hell all my potions were going. Then I realized I set Alistair's tactics to enemy health <25%, use potion.

Hah! You think that's bad, my very first character, I was trying to figure out why I kept using poultices all the time. I then realized that I'd set my character's tactics to "Self: Health > 25%: Use Least Powerful Health Poultice."Sarielle wrote...

Anyway, I'd say the hardest fight would be the fights outside Orzammar, and Jarvia, if you go straight to Orzammar without doing anything else after Lothering.
I'd say the most overestimated would be the wolf encounter that everyone complains about. I've never once had a problem with that encounter (even on nightmare) and I don't really understand the complaints about it.

It depends on the run, but I'd say a fight that has been consistently annoying is the one with two genlock emissaries and a bunch of spiders just before the broodmother. I'd say the most underestimated fight is the genlock forgemaster--he hits like a truck. Ser Cauthrien is hard, but only if you put artificial limits on yourself, so I don't really count that one.
You are absolutely right about the Forgemaster and those Emissaries and spiders. I never see them mentioned, but after my first Nightmare playthrough I always save before those.
I'd say that the most anti Climatic fight is the Archdemon.

*facepalms*
Just did this for the fourth time. Nope, didn't use the rocks.

High Dragon is probably the hardest fight since tactical positioning is really tedious on consoles. When I tell my party to hold position, it doesn't mean they should stop auto-attacking!

2) Godd the archdemon was easy, such a dissappointment. Their were many other battles throughout the game that were much harder.

Anti-Climactic: Archdemon. Seriously, I wasted all my money on that pathetic fight. I think I bought around 20 potions from Sandal and used 4. I had a well set and planned out strategy (due to my horrific experience with the High Dragon), but I just stopped trying halfway through because there was no point. The humans were acting like fodder so I simply went all out. I would even consider this to be the easiest boss battle in the game (when compared to High Dragon, Broodmother, etc.)

I agree with everyone else that the Archdemon was the most disappointing. It was barely tougher than the High Dragon, and this time you could summon legions of troops to help out. The entire Battle of Denerim was, in my opinion, a bit lacking (compared to the carnage of Ostagar, for example, or the grueling length of the Deep Roads). While Loghain himself wasn't too disappointing, the lack of build-up to fighting him was (I was expecting the royal palace to be at least as big as Howe's estate).

Most anticlimatic: the arch demon (It only took me 2 tries to beat it) and Loghain.

On the Xbox:
1. Archdemon, without a doubt. Even on Casual, he was a pain in the ass for me to fight, no matter how well-equipped, leveled, or prepared I was. He got less difficult after multiple plays, but always remained annoying to combat.
2. Zatherian. No matter who I bring with me for the Dalish quest line, I can mow him down quickly.
On the PC:
1. Broodmother - at least compared to the Xbox. Was far more difficult, and by the time I got to the PC version, I was already well-accustomed to most boss fights and how to beat them.
2. Oddly enough, the archdemon. On the PC he was a total pushover. Really surprised me... But in a good way, as I was sick of fighting him in the Xbox version.
Edit: Stupid quick reply formatting... *Sigh*

IMO Broodmother was a bit of a letdown. I 1 shot it on my first try and it's only been easier since. Not using the rocks either!
