Can anyone tell me how Newtons translates into damage? Seeing that a power inflicts 700 or 900 Newtons of force is fine, but that doesn't really tell me how much damage enemies are likely to take from it. Most of the tech powers, as well as Warp, tells you in clear figures how much damage is done, but powers like Throw and Slam only say they inflict so many Newton of force. Is there a conversion formula here?

I think the Newtons arent directly translated into damage, they just give you the kinetic amount, that will throw (farther) away the opponent.

But when the Enemy hits a Wall or sth., while Pushed or Falling to the Ground, then he will get damage maybe resulting by "Newtons -Weight/Mass -DistancePush = Damage).

I was hoping to see some kind of formula or at least a rough estimate on how this works. It seems like the "force" abilities do more damage when the target is effected by pull or singularity, so the weight of the target must be at play here. I've hit the same target with throw over and over to try it out. The damage seemed to be all over the place.

I would also like to know how much damage the Warp Detonation does. Is it effected by +% Power damage?

Is the Drones damage (including explosion) effect by +% Power damage and Tech upgrades?

I got the feeling that, just like in Dragon Age, it will be up the the players to search through the .ini files to find out what does what.

Could any devs perhaps shed some light on this?

It does no direct damage.

if you aim at their feet it will glide across the floor and knock them into the sky, usually taking at least 90% health on a strong enemy. you hit them from the side and most of the energy is wasted on air resistance, leaving them with most of their health (assuming no wall is hit).

Sure, that's for Throw. But what about Slam? Or Pull, Singularity, and so on?

Maybe they designed it so that enemies would take a certain amount of "falling damage" after being affected by a biotic power. Thus the newtons would only be loosely related to the actual damage at best. Newtons deal with the physics engine and determine how far the target is thrown or lifted. After that, a separate equation of some kind kicks in and determines how much damage the target takes based on how fast they were moving when they hit the nearest solid object.

Thats my theory anyway.

Think real world physics. A Newton is the unit used to measure Force. The more force you hit an object with, the more damage it's going to do when that object collides with something else. If that something else is say, a strong wall that exerts an equal and opposite Force, it's going to significantly harm whatever was initially hit. If the wall crumbles and falls away, that object is doing to be less harmed.

What the means in game is, if you hit someone with a 200 Newton Throw, it'll deal roughly double the damage of a 100 Newton Throw. The game then gives it bonus damage if the enemy is weightless (affected by Pull or Singularity). If they hit a wall, they're going to take a ton of damage, while they take less so smashing into a breakable box.

As others explains, if it just sends the enemy flying through the air, and they crash into nothing, all that force you've hit them with is just kinda wasted.
