Do you think that somebody who completely missed the point of this thread will find the way to the exit door, regardless of the signals?

Naive....^_^

Anyone know a way to allow your character to use more weapons? I'm running through as an adept and would rather have an assault rifle as an option. I figure if Samara can use one why not me?

The way the game doles out weapons is based on what it refers to as class loadouts. Just follow the modding instructions above and find the section in there that handles 'Loadouts'. Get to the Adept line and add 'WeaponLoadout_AssaultRifles,' to the line and you're set.

Beware, Shep's GUI can't handle more than 5 guns. If you pick a sixth then it'll disappear. I changed my Heavy Pistol Slot to Assault Rifles and gave him Sniper Rifles too on my Vanguard. SMGs, Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, ARs, and I get to choose a Revenant later on in the game. Epic Pwnage :D

And don't post stuff like that, it damages your brain cells.

I've been unable to change talents using the savegame editor, unfortunately. I'm not sure what is causing it, but it simply ignores any changes aside from the number of assigned points. I can add extra bonus skills (such as having Inferno Grenades, Dominate and Shredder Ammo at the same time) but as far as adding one class talent to another class - no dice. Tried to change Infiltrator Cryo Ammo into Incendiary Ammo, but it just keeps resetting.

Also, a heads up on Gibbed. His page is rarely updated these days for some reason, but he's active on his Twitter account; https://twitter.com/gibbed. Go there to give feedback or nag him.

Yeah I tried taking Pull and Throw off the Adept tree and throwing in Cloak and the Infiltrator class talent using the Coalesced.ini. So far no success but on the upside I havent crashed the game either.

As for all the cheater-haters, a lot of people use these after completing the game and dont want to run through again looking for resources, creds, etc. Some people use these mods to change their appearance on the second run through, add some spiffier looking armor...just basically modding the look of the character.

In the end does it really matter? Some people are playing just for the RPG and want to get the combat over as quickly as possible.

All SP games have cheats. And I'm more concerned about credits than resources. They're such a pain in the ass to get....

If you're playing on 360 there is the hack and bypass glitch which lets you get double credits from any hacked or bypassed PDA, Computer Terminal, or Safe and there is the infinite skill points for Shepard glitch; but that's all I know.  Don't know about PC; but its only a matter of time till there is a mod for everything.

Exactly. Complaining about other people using cheats in a single player game that has no effect on the complainer is one the more despairingly pointless things mentioned on the internetz.

PC, and I got the solution years ago.

Still, thanks. And better luck next time :lol:

Still haven't found a way to alter talents, unfortunately. Still keeping my hopes of a Infiltrator with Incendiary Ammo alive, though... :(

There isn't a console in this game as far as I know. You will have to edit some ini files. Look here http://www.gamefaqs....&topic=53285451 for an easy way to do it.

I only edited the same things you want too, credits and resources. After playing the game a couple of times, scanning gets really tedious. After downloading from the above link, open BIOinput.ini in the configs file, search for [SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault] and add the following lines below it:

Bindings=( Name="NumPadSeven", Command="initcredits 500000" )
Bindings=( Name="NumPadFive", Command="initpalladium 5000000 | initiridium 5000000 | initeezo 5000000 | initplatinum 5000000" )

Save the file, load the exe and press compile Coalesced.ini. That's it. In game, press either 7 for credits or 5 for resources in the numpad.

Where is the BIOinput.ini located?  There are only two or three ini files I could find within the ME2 directory, none of which are it.

Is there a way we can hack the game like in ME1 by just changing some stuff in the notepads? (PC)

And what does Bioware think about this? I dont want my game being invalid for ME3...

I hardly think there will be any problem, at least as long as you alter only the Coalesced.ini, and not the savegames. Although I don't know which data will be imported to ME3...

My advice is to do an original 100% completion with your char, then make a backup of him (located in "\\\\My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\"), and of your original Coalesced.ini, then save them in a DVD/USB drive/whatever. That way you can always restore them if you screw it up, and you'll have a safe copy for ME3. That's what I've done :)

About cheating, it really isn't that hard to get those resources. Aspecially when you get a nice way of scanning. I examinated it, and found one thing - when examining a planet and you find 2 sources really close to each other, but still cannot get both with one drone, the resources around the area you used drone may change it's place. Appear in some places you did already scanned.
.

No, it isn't hard.  Its just terribly, terribly tedious.  After you've played through the game 3 or 4 times, all the game's more tedious aspects that add nothing to gameplay start to really wear on you.  I wish the Long service medal , or maybe some "extra long service medal" like after three games, would remove resource gathering, hacking, and bypassing from the game altogether, leaving you to focus on the action. They add absolutely nothing to gameplay (its not like theyre a challenge or particularly fun, or reward a player for investing skills points in them, since anyone can do it)...they simply take time away from the more fun parts of the game.

Cheats are BW's saving grace for replayability. Without ME2 SaveEditor I'd be back playing Bloodlines or DA:O or something.

I whipped out my perfect ME1 Shep for use in ME2 in 3hrs thanks to the console.

And eliminated tedious planet scanning while retaining minor hidden missions in ME2 using SaveEditor.

It's sooo obvious that cheats are essential for continued game enjoyment.

the creds i dont change, there is (virtually) a set amount of creds in game, and it's enough to get all upgrades and armour etc, so i dont change it. the resources though, 50k? whoopdeedoo, you need an average of 200k, bar eezo, to get all the upgrades, and their are so many planets to scan that resources are virtually infinite, so i change that. plus its really boring, worse than the mako really, at least you got to actually look at stuff, and, if you were feeling happy, you could challenge yourself to try and get up that stupid cliff face.

It would be nice if it was possible to get upgrades at the beginning of the game which we didn't get in the "sort of new game +" feature. A glitch would be great.

I really like some of the game's early missions but it's impossible to have the three biotic or tech upgrades necessary to get the cooldown bonuses until later in the game.
