Would it be a bad idea to have the core class ability increase automatically with every level you gain? Throw in a new ability to keep customisation the same if you want, but this way leveling up would be more rewarding than it is now.
Maybe also restrict specific abilities to characters who have reached a certain level.

There would be no point leveling if you could not pick any skill you want with restrictions at certain points. I earned those skills so i should be able to use when and how i want, but you first statement don't sound bad.

Well, that's exactly the point, isn't it. If you need to reach level 15 to unlock a certain ability you really want, it would make the sense of 'earning' much stronger.XOGHunter246 wrote...

It's about the same right now.Skills are weak at low levels so in order to max a skill, and make it strong, you have to spend 10 points on it which means 5 levels

You have a point there, but that isn't really tied to a specific level. My experience with ME2 has been that you don't really care about leveling very much because you don't know if you'll have enough squad points to increase an ability. And more importantly, every levelup feels the same. I would enjoy the anticipation of building towards a certain level because that level gives you access to an ability that is important to the perticular character build you are aiming for.Duduris wrote...
