Dunno what with the advanced tech and dark space, dark matter, it would be an interesting ploy if the Reapers were looping through time by trillions of years. Or trillions to the triollenth power.

Time travel SUCKS unless it has been a part of the story from the beginning, which in Mass Effect it ISN'T!

"Otherwise, for a game that tries to be based on science, introducing time travel is the ultimate jumping of the shark."

Ludicrous reasoning. There is already so much 'iffy' science in the game. To say that time travel si 100% impossible scientifically is just ploain ignorance and assumes that we real world humans have even made a dent in scentific knowledge.

NEWSFLASH; WE haven't. Even things we take for granted are often later proven wrong. 8shrug*

Now, that doesn't mean I neccessarily *want* time travel in ME3 but it shouldn't be ruled out. Consideirng all the fancy 'new age'/ never discovered before tech it surely can't be ruled out.

I'll go the save way - no for ME3 but potentially yes for future games in the ME universe.

Illogic. does. not. compute.

The protheans being collectors is not new. In ME1, protheans were simply wiped out. Reapers being built from fleshie juices wasn't a part of ME1. the who poiunt of future games is to add stuff to the universe background. New tech was added in ME2, why not further on. *shrug*

Actually, it isn't ludicrous reasoning.  Traveling backwards in time is agreed upon to be impossible.  By all scientists.  It violates logic, and the law of increasing entropy.

This could used in many different ways. Smaller subquests could allow you save kaiden/ashley, or wrex. Or venture back in time to try stop the Reapers during the Prothean invasion, when that fails you travel back further and one of your main missions is traveling to a primitive earth. The possiblities are endless if this were a tech uncovered for the third game. Especially if upon returning to the present each quest would alter the galactic reality of ME.

I was going to flame you, but then I recalled your other thread.

Boy, can you imagine if the writers had planned time travel for ME3? It would be hilarious to see their faces reading this thread.

lmao i scrolled down page one of this thread quickly and couldn't help but laugh. it's all "No" all the way down, puncuated by a GIANT "No" about 3/4 down, courtesy of Rakia_Time. poor OP. should have expected no love on this one, though...
