Hi all.
I've a little (big) problem.
When i have to chose the character that have to go inside the pipings i usually chose Tali.
Unfortunately she die every time when she try to lock the door.
Why? I try also with Legion and Mordin but nothing change.

Help me, please.

Are they all loyal? I made it with these people:



Legion in the tube duct.

Miranda leading 2nd team.

Grunt and Mordin on my team.

Jacob to lead the team back to the ship.

Sumara as the Biotic shield.

Miranda leading 2nd team again.

and Grunt and Mordin on my team again.

I've been using:

Tali for the duct

Garrius leading Team 2

Grunt leading the team back

Sumara the Biot shield

Garrus leading second again

Legion and Miranda on my team.



Haven't got the achievement but I think it might be because I slacked on the upgrades.

Quik question, does the death of your crew (Chakwas, Yeoman, non-squad members) effect whether you get the achievement or not?

SPOILERS: Besides the obvious choice of Eng. for the ducts you also have to be aware of who is in the last party guarding the gate. I got this from another site but it had positive comments and it worked for me.

skeleton120: The loss of your crew would affect the ach. because you need to ditch a weak combat character by sending them back. I don't believe it automatically ruins the ach. but I've always saved at least one. Try googling that exact question. One post I found said Mordin died when he didn't save anyone. I think this means they couldn't send him back with the crew, didn't pick him for the boss fight and he kicked the bucket at the final gate.

Don't put anyone who is not loyal on the gate or in the ducts. Legion and Mordin are the best bets for the ducts but Mordin, Tali and perhaps Jack are not great combat choices. Send Tali or Mordin back if you don't want to take them with you for the final battle. Garrus or Miranda for team leads.

I did have Jack survive as part of the gate guard on ins. (despite me choosing Miranda in the catfight) but she died on hc. Tali died in the gg on ins. Sniffle.

You have to upgrade the ship all the way as far as I know. Otherwise it gets cut up and people die before you land.

Tali and Legion are actually the choices you want to make for the pipes and you don't have to save the crew but it is a good way to keep mordin or tali safe from the hold the line section by sending them back with the crew.

Here's what I do, It works except for the fact that I can't have absolutely everyone loyal due to my Xbox 360 not being connected so I can't get any new glitch-fixing patches, usually Miranda dies because she's bugged to hell.

Tali or Legion though the pipe
Garrus leads all other teams
Grunt escorts civilians back
Samara does the Biotic Barrier
Tali and Legion come help me beat the final boss.

EDIT: Ship should be upgraded with guns, shield, and armor or else people will die before you even land!

Yeah I got the achievement first time by going for:



Legion through the pipe (Tali works also).

Garrus leading the fireteams (Miranda and Jacob are alternatives)

Anyone loyal to escort civvies back

Jack for the biotics (Or Samara)

Then pick your team to hold the line.



Loyalty is key for all positions. If one person isn't loyal it can potentially cost another party member their life.



I lost half the crew and still got the achievement also.

i put zaeed to lead the fireteams. and legion, with loyal at max. the two died.

i think you need the upgrades to survive.

Nah, its just that theyre bad choices, like sending miranda or jacob to do the biotic barrier.

The survival of your tech expert also depends on picking a right leader for your squad.

Right Tech experts: Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy, Legion and Kasumi(youtube videos taken down by EA have shown her capable of surviving the pipes/hacking assignement).

Right leaders: Garrus Vakarian, Miranda Lawson, Jacob Taylor

Any other team leader and your tech expert is 100% GUARANTEED to die even if you picked the right tech expert.

NO Zaeed is definitely NOT a competent leader.

Tali is the best choice for the pipe, garus or miranda as leader and she is fine. Also make sure the ship is upgraded fully, and all members are loyal. Moridin in a good choice to escort the crew back.
