On rare occasions in the past, I have actually taken a day or two off of work to play a highly anticipated game. And I am considering doing so again for the release of Dragon Age.
Any body else ever do this? And is anyone thinking of doing this for Dragon Age?
I think the last time I took a day off of work was for Fallout 3.

yep
the 3d i a tuesday, I work until 1pm...GS does not open until 10 so there would be no sense taking the 3d off....I'll just go from work straight to GS and then home
now the 4th I took off....and I plan to play all day

not really, my studies come first, haha
I'm already missing classes because I'm having a flu, can't do this again because of dragon age. probably I will only get it in december, though

Unfortunately, yes, I booked the 3-5 of November off work. Haven't done that for a video game in awhile.

If it is that good then the anticipation of coming back to it, after school or work, will make it even more enjoyable.

I haven't taken time off to play a video game in quite a few years, but I'm planning on it for Dragon Age >

Time off school! What the hell! I guess someone could take a week off work around the release date. But a taking school off? That's mad.

Heh... I just couldn't do that, not for a game, not for a movie or anything else. I'm taking only time off if I am sick, and even then I feel guilty. XD
I really enjoy my school and my education goes always first... and I will not ruin my marks or risk loosing the trust of my teachers just because of a game.

I am so going to be cutting class to play this game. ;P Thankfully, I just have philosophy and introduction to art that day!

As tempting as it is I need to save my vacation days for a more crucial period in two months and money is too scarce for me to miss work. Dragon Age will still be there when I get home. =)

It will be very tempting to play Dragon Age instead of going to class, but alas education must not be sacrificed for fun. Its not like I won't have time after class to play it.

I think I will come down with a sudden illness around the 3rd of November. It is flu season after all! Who's to say it's not true?

I can't. Real pain is that DAO comes out on the 5th over here - and I have holidays from October 31 to November 8 ... I wish they would release the game a week earlier.

I don't have a job at the moment, I am waiting to go to college (I had to sign up September of next year), but I do volunteer with the ASPCA, and I don't plan to cut any of my shelter time out for DA:O. I don't think I could live with myself if I did that.

This is the sort of decision (taking vacation days or whatnot) that causes massive forum rage if there's a last-second delay.

Im stating college in a few days, and I think its a bad idea to start skipping classes this early in the year...

I actually have it the other way around... I have exams over the next 2-3 weeks and finish just as DA:O comes out. And I know i will play all weekend (and seeing as I don't have Friday classes Ill have a nice 3 day weekend to reward myself with epic playtime.

I'm taking the 4th and 5th off. Already put in for it. It has been darn near 10 years since I've taken a day off to play a game. LOL

Unfortunately work and school have to come first for me. I had to take the slowest shipping option to help offset the cost of the CE, so I'll likely have time to play it when it actually arrives at my door. As long as it arrives on a monday.
