If Tali and Garrus only count for the old crew: Yeah, still the new crew. Only by about a thousand miles though.

Keep Garrus.
Keep them for no other reason than those two dreaded, "self-serving" (According to Ashley) aliens were the only ones from ME to stick by you.
I'm ok with Miranda. I wouldn't mind digging into Legion some more.
The rest can vanish.

Well, there was Joker and Dr.Chakwas, who specifically said she was following YOU.

Original crew of course. Better written, had more impact on the plot, and have been here since the beginning. ME2 crew felt like warm bodies to throw at a sucide mission.
Amazing how when Bioware finally create a game that is supposed to be "about the squadmates", they fumble and manage to make them the most lacklustre Ive ever seen.
This.

I could get through all of Wrex's, Tali's, and Garrus's dialogs in 4 chats.
I could get through all of Ashley's, Kaiden's, and Liara's dialogs in about 5-6 chats (I forget)
That's pretty much exactly the format of the ME2 conversations as well. I see no difference other than the fact that the ME1 crew was more interesting.

Tali, Garrus an' Wrex are the only ones I'd be missing out on. Liara... I just don't have much trust for her after ME2. Unstable. Kaidan I killed off, Ash I could care less for.

Is wrong. The lack of Liara has clouded your minds, good sirs, if you don't think characters like Legion and Mordin are not some of the best written Bioware characters.

Oh ya, thats right, the character who comes in right before what little that constitutes the plot in ME2 comes to a close. Yeah, I really had time to get to know him.
Mordin? Hes likeable because of comic relief, and his personal plot is quite high quality, but its too simple. All gets done and dusted. Makes sense for the mission, but not for a character I can honestly say is one of Biowares best ever.
He was certainly, along with Samara, my favourite out of ME2, but I would completely take ME1 squadmates over them both any day.
I think Biowares best characters have always been ones who are neatly woven into the plot. Its anything but neat in ME2, its simply "becuz of teh sooeysyde mishin!"

Ashley/Kaidan, Liara, and Wrex are the only ones missing from the new crew. 3 peeps compared to 11.
Let's just have a mix of both please. Let everybody have some closure.

By the way,
Crap > Ashley > Kaidan

Might take me a few minutes, But Ash and Wrex would win out in the end.
If not, Ash and Garrus.

The addition of Tali has clouded your good sir, if you think that Legion and Mordin are the cream of the crop...

I liked how the new crew was written, but if I had to choose I guess I would go with the old crew. The new crew (for the most part) feels like a group professionals who are going about a job. The old crew had a kind of "unlikely heroes" vibe going for it that appealed to me.
A cop, a scientist, and some Marines are unlikely heroes...? The bounty hunter, okay, I'll give you that.

Its not just about the characters though, its about the execution of the plot. ME2 beats you to death with the suicide mission almost from the get go. ME1 was much more subtle, and you were unraveling a complex mystery with a band brought together for different reasons.
Its why meeting Sovereign for the first time kicked so much harder than ANYTHING ME2 offered.

I wouldn't mind having Ash and Liara tagging along, but I really don't care.
