Jacob gets hated on an awful lot and he was one of my favorite characters throughout. Garrus seemed... more distant, than ME1. I thought Jacob was a legit guy, and I appreciated his honesty right off the bat. I like that he doesn't care for Cerberus, and he was the first character Shep could really trust at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jacob as a character. He and my Shepard were good friends by the end. My only problem with Jacob is the forced flirtation through voice acting that Fem!Sheps encounter. It annoys me.
Other than that, I quite like him. He and Garrus were my main companions.

Heh Jacob is pretty much the equivalent of Garrus in ME1, feel like he's a pal of Shepard but there a bit missing to make close friendship sound less beliveable

I think to appreciate Jacob you really need to play as MaleShep first. I thought he was great. Wife disliked him. Mainly due to the forced flirtation she had to do almost immediately when talking to him. Later when she played her MaleShep, she understood why I thought he was a great guy.

I mainly didn't like his weapons loadout. Maybe if he was wearing armor, I'd have felt more comfortable having him take point, as well as the brunt of attacks. He was great to chat with though. I haven't continued the game after beating it, but can you actually go and have a drink with him on the Citadel?

yeah wasn't catching that vibe, he's a soldier, he has no problem risking his life for a cause he believes in. I took him as a good guy, and one of the few stable personalities on the normandy

Jacob has one decent skill (Incendiary Ammo). I can't see why anyone would ever chose to take him over ANY of the other squadmates. As a character he is just bland and uninteresting.
Sorry guys, the Bro comes in last place out of 11 squad mates. He seriously needs a red Star Trek uniform, IMO.

I never really liked Jacob simply because his powerset. He just doesn't do much. Also how in the hell can anyone hate Zaeed? That guy is hilarious and inferno grenade rules.
