I thought he was much more engaging and interesting than Kaiden, and he felt like a real, decent guy who I could count on.
Never used him in battle due to him sucking awful amounts of rectum, but loved him as a character.

No one dislikes Jacob, he just isn't anyone's favorite because he doesn't stand out. He's too agreeable, too nice, which in turn makes him boring. He's there. He never has anything interesting to add, he just says **** and you go, "OK, I can agree with that." There is no personality to hate. In fact, the only thing I dislike about Jacob are the absence of hips, which makes his upper body look freakishly huge. Jacob is the Kaiden/Carth of ME2 without the annoying or whiny backstory.
THIS IS WHY I LIKE HIM... I mean if I was Shep is traight forward honest attitude would put me at ease, especially when the only other initial squaddy, Miranda, wanted a chip in my brain - Jacob is upfront with his problem with Cerberus but they give him whatever he needs to achieve his goals, something the alliance wouldn't do - so I feel Shep and Jacob can have an instant connection, having a fundamental problem with an organization that you can't seem to do without
I agree 100+% In the begining when you meet him he tells you upfront whats up and whose runing the show.In many ways he could have became a specter himself.

Garrus and Jacob are my boys but my A team in ME 1 was Kaidan and Wrex, and in 2 my A team is Grunt with either Jack or Miranda (Jack for the most part, but Miranda when dealing with Geth)

Uhm, anyway. My Shepard dislikes Cerberus' past deeds just as much as he does, if not more, so she felt comfortable talking to him right from the start. Heck, he was probably the only one she trusted in the beginning! He's overall just a very cool guy and an awesome friend.
And he's pretty useful in combat, too. I rarely use the Pull ability, so I let him pull enemies closer, then throw them away with full force and watch them fly through the area. Adept Shepard and Jacob make an awesome team

What's with the ITT?
Also: Jacob folks need a snazzy ME3 squadmate banner that says "GET LOUD AND SPILL SOME DRINKS IN ME3"!

I like all the caracters they are all briliant, i dont get why people hate any of them.
This. I have my favorite characters, but all of them were awesomesauce. I tried my hardest to make sure everyone survived my suicide mission. I wasn't going to accept any deaths. They were all worth keeping in my book.

They should have made him a "proper" bromance option.goofygoff wrote...
I find it amusing that BioWare finally created a LI for females that guys don't universally hate, and he'll probably go down as the least popular LI with the ladies.
Coincidence? I think not.

The only thing I didn't like about him was that he'd say things like: "You're teasing something, aren't you?"
What? No. I want to talk to you. Why are you so paranoid?
Getting his shirt off was worth it, though.
