Yeah I was in a "I don't feel like dealing with other people's problems" mood.  Can you tell?  :innocent:  Plus, like I said, I tried to create a mod for X3 Terran Conflict.  It became too much because one person wanted this, and another person wanted that, etc, therefore, I don't care about other people's problems with my mod, unless they want information on how to make it work for them of course.

By the way, the program is kinda adjustable, but you have to edit the source code.  It's really easy to adjust how low or high you want the peaks to be detected.  Also, it doesn't detect Element Zero.  I did this on purpose as Element Zero concentrations are usually much lower, therefore if I hear the distinctive "beep" of element zero, I'll simply scan the planet manually.

I prefer my method of just hacking myself the minerals so I don't have to deal with scanning at all.

I'd rather be bored doing laundry or washing the dishes than being bored during a videogame. Defeats the purpose of said videogame...but no, you're right, we're 'lazy' and 'worthless' because we dont like a boring feature in the game.

I was going to try to find out how to do that, but I failed, so I made this.... haha

I will take a look to the source. With that Element Zero i agree, not many sources, so you can just doit manually.

Thx for reply. Good luck

I do have to pay myself, I suppose. And I am not cheap.

Dang, I had over 200k of each mineral except for Element Zero, of which I had 55k. I almost screamed when I found out that replaying the game while importing the previous playthrough reset all my minerals to 50k. NOT my idea of "bonus resources". This program will come in handy.

Wow that's not cool. Anyway, I'm experiencing some weird behavior sometimes, I have no idea why.  Sometimes the steps will be bigger than other times, it's odd, I'll let you know if I figure it out.

It's nicely done, but if I'm going to go that far, I might as well just give myself resources via the console ;).

^^^^
This is a very simple method for giving yourself resources.

I was actually find scanning to be more time consuming on the PC than the 360.  The vibration on the controller really helped me key in on the spikes and I was find it easier to mainting a line.

But yeah, good work on the macro.   Reading this post has motivated me to dig up my n52te.

I don't think I'd grab the thing, but that's still VERY awesome that you just busted that out. I'm impressed!

Call me crazy, but I actually like doing the the scans.

Granted I don't usually spend any time scanning moderate or poor planets, but how many resources do you really need?

At some point the cost of drones and fuel far outweigh any benefit you get from stockpiling resources, so everything in moderation.

can't you boost your minerals with a console command on PC?

There are several methods you can use, but I don't know if a console command is one of them.

Seriously why are you hating?

Good job to the OP, though I don't see what advantages this confers over just haxing ini's

The funny thing is, I feel like I'm REALLY cheating if I simply hack the ini.  When I do this, I feel like I'm just.... automating the game, rather than straight up hacking it.

Anyway, I've found some REALLY weird behavior.  So when I move the scanner across the planet, I skip 5 pixels at a time, in the original app.  However, SOMETIMES, these 5 pixels will move half way across the planet, while others it'll only move 1/20th of the way across.  So obviously the original program that moved 5 pixels at a time won't work well because the planet will constantly be spinning.  It causes lag, so it's annoying.  I have NO idea why it's doing this.  But again... I don't care... I just made another version of the app that moves 2 pixels at a time, so I have an app to deal with both situations.  I figured that'd be easier than trying to figure out the problem and fix it.  It's kinda like a treatment rather than a cure if ya know what I mean.  I'll get around to posting the new one if anyone asks.

Some people say this would be like a cheat or something. And for most similar things I would agree, but scanning is such a tedious task. First it was a bit fun, but I got bored of it on the first playthrough and I don't want to scan the galaxy on every playthrough.

Hey corrado33, thanks for the time you spent making a mod for us BUT try this it is much more stable. All you have to do is install, open the save you want to edit and then save over the file or save as one number higher.. also it adds Paragon/Renegade points, lets you import faces, change loadouts, up your medigel, up your ammo to 9999 (except heavy weapon ammo) and alot of other things.

Here is the link: http://mod.gib.me/ma...eedit_rev25.zip

Have fun.

Just what i was looking for, thank you.

However, the program doesn't check the very bottom poles of the planets, at least for me anyway. Any chance you can edit it :P ?

To all who are declining this mod:

Have you thought about the fact, that you play Commander Shepard, the commanding officer of the Normandy? Have you thought about the fact that there is a full crew aboard this ship? And have you realized that YOU as the COMMANDING OFFICER simply could order YOUR crew to do janitor-work like scanning planets for resources? Well, at least you could do so if the designers at BioWare would have thought about that and had realized the stupidity in placing the player as a commander of a starship and forcing him to do a ensign's/crewman's work.

So I think such a mod is simply more realistic.
