I finished my first play through as an Adept.  It took a bit to get used to the changes to biotics from ME1.  I hated Singularity at first because it now shoots like an arrow.  I kept shooting it into the ground or even my own cover!

However, once I learned to use it correctly I found myself using it all the time.  In fact, it kinda made most battles too easy.  Singularity to suck in a bunch of enemies and then hit one with a Warp and they all go boom.   The mission to get the reaver IFF was so simple because I could just lay down a Singularity at any point where the husks were climbing up and they all died as soon as they hit it.   I used it Singularity / Warp combo constantly by the end of the game.

I'm wondering how other classes handle taking out big groups at once like swarms of Husks or Varren?

Reave is very popular.

Soldiers can cut down a lot of enemies under Rush with a Revanant.

On lower difficulty levels Infl. can get away with squad Cryo but on higher ones tend to end up kiting a lot.

Nothing quite as large as a wide singularity, but vanguards get pretty wide shockwaves while sentinels and engineers get large overloads that stun.

oh and combat drones are pretty useful.

Engineers get full cryo freeze which can feeze up to 5 targets in my experience. The rest of them have already been said.
