Has anyone heard if Gamestop is offering a way to pre-order Awakening? I usually pre-order games with Gamestop and I don't trust a lot of sites that you can pre-order from.

I don't think any pre order bonuses have been announced outside of Germany.

search "Dragon Age Origins: Awakening" on gamestop.com and add it to your cart. or reserve it in-store

If I add it to my cart on the site, do I pick it up at a store or is it mailed?

I dunno about through site but I went there the other day to pre-order it.

What's the German pre-order bonus, by the way?

I called the Gamestop closest to my house and they said to pre-order from their site and specify where you want to pick it up. It was pretty easy as they use your zip code to find the closest local stores.

Mailed.  If you wanna pick it up in store then you need to go to the specific store you intend to pick it up at.  Stores are unlikely to honor online reservations.

If you dont wanna wait on shipping or pay for it, I suggest you reserve in-store.

Nope, you can reserve it on the site and it will give you the option to choose a store to pick it up from (youll have to pay the store and not the website). Ive done it a few times now, though for Awakenings I just stopped by my store and reserved it there.

I work at gamestop. We are taking pre-orders. You can order online or in-store. Online customers can specify which store they want to pick up the game from. If you're going to pick it up at the store, I recommend pre-ordering at the physical store itself.

Whats the point of pre-ordering it if you don't get any pre-order bonuses?

For me it allows me to spread the cost of the game over several paychecks instead of one $40+ transaction. Most places only require a $5 deposit but will let you pay as much as you want and come in later to pay a little more on the preorder up until the game comes out. So when I place a preorder I pay $10, then each paycheck I get Ill come back in and pay $10 or so more until its paid off. Then when the game comes out I just go pick it up. It still costs $60 or whatever, its just nicer for me to pay $10 at a time when its convenient than a huge $60 chuck all at once.

Well you save $5 off the pre-order purchase if you buy it upfront.
It may just be $5, but that at least something. Plust $5 is alot to people nowadays....

The $5 goes towards the cost of the game, it's merely a down payment.  You spend the same money in the end.

Soooo what I am hearing is Germany and the Swede's are getting a pre-order bonus and as of yet we are getting bupkiss hmmmm. Hopefully Bioware will fix this very sad dilema and hand us some loot for those of us who preorder.

You can still use the toolset to make mega items, should you feel empty? Like my special energy field bow which deals only 6000 damage... and it's fast... pretty much like dual wielding with triple haste.
