So, even if you did not do the Ashley romance in ME1, did you still save Ashley, or opt for Kaiden?
Even though Ashley is kinda weird-looking, has the lazy eye and huge nose, I liked her personality. A lot of people call her racist, but she didn't seem that way to me. I got the sense that she could tolerate aliens, as long as they weren't a threat to the Alliance or humanity. She isn't anti-alien, just pro-human. (I would classify Cerberus as BOTH anti-alien AND pro-human.)
That being said, Kaiden is much more mild-tempered and actually displays all the good traits of a military officer. I just never liked him as a character. I imported 4 files from Mass Effect: 3 Paragon and 1 Renegade. Two of them I did the Ashley romance, one of them Liara romance, and one with no romance. In the files where I did not romance Ashley, I left her on Virmire. However, I am beginning to regret that choice.
Whenever I meet up with Kaiden on Horizon, and he goes into his "OMG how could you do this to me?" speech, he comes off as a little to whiny-****y. Also, I had Miranda in my party at the time, and at one point she looked over at Shepard, and it was almost like she was thinking "Shepard used to spend weeks at a time on a cramped ship with THIS guy as his second-in-command?" At least when it is Ashley yelling at me I can justify the attitude.
So how do you feel about the whole Ashley/Kaiden thing?
