I hope BioWare keeps to its commitment of not having elven female romanceables in Awakenings. It was one of my favorite non-existent elements in Origins, and whenever I come across the lack of elven female love interests, a little rainbow springs up in my heart.

Just to prove all forum-goers are argumentative (though, many wouldn't agree), I say bring Viconia back! Say there was a dimensional portal or something.

edit: Now I feel like being serious; Are there even going to be romance options in Awakenings? I wonder how Leliana is going to feel about this..

double edit: I just thought about this, I'd pay 40 dollars just to see what Viccy would do if a human called her "knife ears".

Are we certain that romances have been confirmed for the expansion? If so, would a dwarven gal similar to Aimo's noble princess tickle your fancy, Maria?  How about a human icemaiden rogue/assassin you need to thaw?

Hope they haven't actually made this commitment anywhere, I'd love to see an elven romance if it fits the character and the story. If not I don't mind, but I don't see any real issue if the female romanceable characters are human or elven (or even dwarven I guess) so long as it works. I liked both the Morrigan and Leliana romances in Origins, I also like to see a possible romance with an elven female if it would make potential sense. Then again, if the writers don't think it would, and have other ideas I'm fine with that, I don't really see this don't make anymore elven romances/there must be elven romances (relating here to female romance characters is really an issue), it should really be about the characters and stories, guess I'm sad people keep seeing the need to make a point about it one way or another every so often.

And as an interesting aside, this 'no female elven romance' certainly hasn't extended to the novels, one female elven romance in each ;-)

Dragon Age is a realistic and gritty fantasy world. There are no mentally stable women on the market.

It's transsexual, two S'es.

That would be fine as I'm not against elven male love interests, only the female ones.

Aerie, Viconia, Jaheira, Elanee... Elven Females always rulez in BW games... I believe the anomaly was to not see a romancable Elven Female in Origins... You may bet there will be one this time

And Maria proves beyond all doubt that fans will find a way to have their way, particularly when it comes to affairs of the heart.  Take a bow, Maria!
 
The Aimo-like dwarf ,  icemaiden rog/asn , devout Templar , or wonderfully woodsy rog/rng  human females would fit the bill for me.
