Nah, I don't think that Leliana is up to anything at all.

While she might have lied to you about her past at first, she opens up more and more. The emotion I hear in her voice tells me that Leliana is someone I could trust.

Anyhoo, if Bioware does pull a bs on Leliana, Maker help them. Brothers and sisters, I, shall supply torches and pitchforks in that situation.

Stop thinking with your junk- any woman who is talented and skilled enough can fool a man into just about anything.  Leliana would have no trouble "putting emotion" into her voice.

Do remember that she is bisexual and therefore have a harder time fooling us women. :P
Like Morrigan said (not quoting): Men tend to believe two things about women; that they are weak, and that they are utterly attracted to him.
Women are often more ... alert, and would be able to spot if something wasn't right in a situation similar to Leliana and her female Warden.

now they want to crucify  leliana:crying::crying:

she betray us?, more hypocritical than morrigan and  flemeth  i don't think so, they had a plan from the beginning

if she really want to betray us from the beginning would have made every
effort to join us, "would use his bard tactics ", but simply do not
accept their offer and all ok,

if she would betray us,  she tell us the things she did in his past, not the most foolish of the bards would do such a thing,

that is the proof that she has nothing in mind, I just wanted to change to be a better person:innocent:

it is clear that his vision was but a dream, but she really showed
throughout the game be the best companion you can have, like  allistar
and wynne the best companions you can have.

all she wanted was for things he saw in his dream not come true, so she wanted to join us:)

not like morrigan who only want her semi god son , She don't care the blight, as zevran only wished to save
his life, as well oghren that runs out of spite his wife and decided to
join us,

the only one here who is saved is sten, which is a character that may
seem bad at first but as you know it you start to rely on.

as a fan of  leliana I must defend  her at all costs. but
it is true that the relationship with her did not end well, when you
talk to wynne and have a romance with  leliana  she tells you that
this relationship may end badly for both, very sad

like if you had a romance with morrigan, Wynne tells you that she is
planning something:?, so Wynne has talents to predict the future also

forgiveness for the biggest post , but had to speak my mind

There isn't really any need to defend her, because most of the arguments presented here are simply nonsense.

1) "Think about it, She went from being a bard to the chantry..? Not without reason....Yes Marjolin hunted her but maybe it wasnt for the reasons she said." Yes, but there is no proof of that apart from "well I have a feeling she may be not telling the truth".

2) "In the temple at the Urn of Sacred Ashes the guy says she was lying and that the maker never came to her in a dream." The Guardian says she enjoyed the attention her claims had given her. He doesn't question the claims themselves, at least not directly.

3) "After all Marjolain warns you about her possible betrayal." Of course, what else would you expect from her. "Oh, she's so nice girl, live happily and don't forget to kill me so I can't bother you again."? Seriously?

4) "But I see Marjolaine returning to kill her, the game dialogue puts the kill Marjolaine options bottom of the list." Maybe. Though I don't see why anyone would let Marjolaine live, after what she has done. Her voice and accent alone make me want to grind her into a meatpaste.

Too early to judge IMO. Maybe we'll see more in Dragon Age 2 (or whatever they plan to call it).

THX dude,  this sentence "She tries to become a Grey warden and... fails", oh men is very possible,  but if you think  bioware cannot be so evil, do you?,

if
this is taken as an explanation, I imagine the vast amount of comments
from people angry at myself included,:blush:wait wait wait, we can only hope

Yep Image IPB I didnt spare Marjolaine either or her lackey that attacked beforehand. Theres no reason to defile the ashes either given you need them to heal Arl Eamon a major plot point, the most common excuse used by haters.

Loghains lackey's also appear in the Lothering Inn, who doesnt visit an Inn when new in town? failed argument again.

Calm down this is just a expansion you can't get but so much content in the 15 hours or so Im sure the dev. aren't so near sighted as to go around killing off your old party members when they can always use them for a returning full sequel. Kinda like where's Leliana she didn't survive the joining and Zev crows Wynne old age Dog ran away Shale went after him. Im sure after all the hard work they did on making these character ( expect for dog and Oghren I swear he must be a glitch ) they want toss them aside. As far as Leliana betraying you I doubt that I trust her more than ANYONE but I did notice in the first trailer for awakening when you wake up and that guy says, so your the leader of the GWs there is a redheaded girl standing next to him whom dose look a lot like Leliana but even if that is her that doesn't mean she betrayed you.

I romanced both Morrigan and Leliana. The interplay and jealousy from both ladies was hilarious. I even had Whynne telling me to leave Leliana alone. In the end Leliana is traveling with my character, Morrigan has left with child. Everyone appears to be enjoying life, except Morrigan.

Yes, one of the very few (if not the only one) questionable Leliana's lines. If it's just a figure of speech (a kind of "backdoor" if you'd ever stumble upon a conversation topic she wouldn't like) or if it has a deeper context, that remains to be seen.

Yeah more betrayal! Berrrr-ring it! Briiiiinnnnnnnnngggggggg iiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I was always a little suspicous of her seeing that her big 'lie' in DAO wasn't plot changing like Morrigan's secret motives etc.

well , i´m not defending anyone , but i wouldn´t "put my hands on fire" for leliana ,
a dude here said that she tells about her past , a thing that is not usual for a bard , well what you´ve heard of her past was exactly what SHE tells about it , true or not .

and to be honesty , i like unnexpected things to happen in games , like that guy that died trying to flee form the "joining ritual" lol when duncan killed him i just freeze , not believing kkkkk
but after all he doesn´t fit the "grey warden" style

backing to leli, still don´t know what to think ^^

Since it is a multi branch story, no romance should be shoe horned into tragic, bittersweet, or happy.  There should be at least two endins, one bad/nuetral and one happy.

I disagree. Cullen is nutters; if the Warden mage romances him, it should end badly. Morrigan is independent and views love as a weakness; if the Warden romances her, it's not going to end well.

The idea that every romance should have a happy ending because the PC invested in skill X or used dialogue branch Y is not something I support.

Considering that the PC can alter Morrigan's perceptions on love and make her admit that she is in love... that argument falls flat on its face.  In a multi branch game, a single theme dominating any type of ending is inexcusable.  If you want a theme to dominate the story or the romance, remove choice from that aspect of the game.  Sorry, but this BS of "it's going to end badly or happily simply because we decided so" in a choice oriented game is just pathetic.

I had heard that one of the characters betrays you, towards the end, and, in the Deep Roads after a fight, Sten suddenly jumped up into the air in slow-motion and stabbed Leilana in the back. It looked very impressive, and my blood ran cold for a second....but it turned out to be an ogre-kill animation gone awry. Phew!

I definatly like you! Your one of the only ones in this forum that actually considered the possibilities!
And btw Leliana was always my love interest! I loved Leliana she was funny and cute but also seductive and defensive. When i asked her about orlesian bards being in Fereldon she flipped out! She got si definsive so that is what brought this on. Even if you like her you have to atleast admit that she is hiding SOMETHING.

I see Leliana as being perfectly willing to lie through her teeth if it might amuse, entertain, or please someone she likes.

The story about a woman who puts live birds in her hair is probably something Leliana made up on the spot.

That little something does not necessarily have to be anything bad, does it? Who knows, maybe she feels safer with her personal secrets belonging to her, no one else.

I would like to see Bioware expand upon the "No more lies between us. On this at least" line in the expansion or a sequel.

Right! Fereldens think Orlesians are nutty and frou-frou. She's having a conversation with a Ferelden woman she finds attractive.

She compliments you and then says something about how Orlesian women have elaborate hairstyles. The entertainer in her says 'That's kinda boring. Can you kick it up a notch?' and she comes up with a story about having live birds in your hair. If you laughed and encouraged her, she would probably come up with a story about a woman who tried to have sparklers in her hair, but it set her hair on fire, so she dunked it in the punch bowl, but the punch bowl was alcholic, and she ended up bald with singed off eyebrows.

And a Ferelden would be like, "That sounds completely insane, but this is Orlais we're talking about. ORLAIS!"

I still don't think Leliana is THAT much of a liar. That's why I would like Bioware to tell us more about her in expansions/sequels or hell, DLC.

I also believe we need to have a firsthand experience of Orlais and her men, women, wine, birds, heads on fire, etc...

*Hint, hint, Bioware.*

How is she being ‘THAT much of a liar’?

She’s an entertainer. Making up stories is something she’s done for years. And if you’re speaking with her, you’re her audience.

In fact, she’s obliged to entertain you. She has professional ethics. Imagine someone having a conversation with a bard and getting bored. Her reputation would be ruined!
