Different game engines, so ti might be a lot trickier.   Bioware made the DA engine from the ground up so they could easily include such features, but ME2 runs on the Unreal Engine which doesn't support such things out of the box.

Am I blind? How exactly? I only see preset avatars and no option to upload my own.

you need a copy of Dragon Age Origins, and with some tempering of the character picture files, you can upload custom avatars

Do you need the PC version of DA:O or will any registered copy do?  I downloaded the character creator and uploaded it to the site but it didn't give me the custom avatar.

you need PC version of DAO im afraid. Character creator will not work. Xbox version will not work

Lame!  They should let everybody just upload their own avatar to use on the forums.  Why must they punish those who choose to buy the game on the console?

While i'm on the subject, why do they release a seperate DA:O character creator but not one for ME2?  If you want to make a new face for Shepard just to get the face code you gotta watch that long opening sequence.

That may be true but it doesn't seem like Bioware minds it so why not just give everyone the option to have custom avatars?
