True story:

I want to be on those picturesque vista lookout points in the nice looking cities, or in the high priced minimalist flat the illusive man hangs out in.

When I turn off the game, I'm still in a boring old apartment.

I don't know that I can justify the cost but I may take to building the illusive man room in the form of apartment space, with simulated space window via smoked glass and vid screen behind it. I wonder how much I'd have to pay bioware for high-res projection of the planet animation :)

I actually build a Tim-style room. It was pretty easy to do (and cheap if you've got some of the stuff already). Basically just need a rear-projector and some glass. It looks pretty bad ass I must say.

"no u!"

I'm not crazy, I promise. Maybe a little...
I was purposely overstating it for dramatic and comedic effect, but man, I love it.

I have a supreme appreciation for this sort of sci-fi retro-futurism grey area, the worlds created in movies and games and things that only a few have tapped into so well.

Blade Runner, Mass Effect... are two examples of incredible marriage of the right type of music, sound design and visual stimulae to recreate this eerily beautiful-yet-dark tone that I love so much. Even day to day noise and traffic somehow sounds serene and relaxing... things that in the "real world", today, consist of grinding noises, beeps/honking and loud undesirable noises. The good, bad and ugly in these imagined worlds are all desirable and pleasing.

All that aside,
the illusive man space is undeniably cool inspiration for people into minimalist design & deco. No one can deny that it'd be cool as **** to sleep in a room that featured a simple bed in that dim room lit by mostly a glowing gas giant or whatever through a "window".
