Elves? Grunt's comment on them being not as squishy as humans, asari and salarians suggests otherwise.

Something about the shape of their eyes and their elongated helmets (males especially) makes me think they might look like space yuan-ti (snake people).

i think this would suit the quarians

the "muscle" on the geth, is what i imagine the quarians skin to look similar as... if you get my drift

Yeah but the Turians and Krogans, and to less extent the Drell are less human-like that say Star Trek aliens. Which is good, I hate when all aliens look like humans.

True - sorry, what i more meant was Turians and Krogan are bipedal and have 2 eyes set in the same places as ours, as well as a mouth in the same location.

Again, I'm not trying to say this is a bad thing. We can't easily empahise with truly alien looking aliens because our brains are hardwired for human faces and expressions. But at least BioWare do try and make the aliens look alien, not like people in bad makeup ;) (see - Star Trek, especially the Originals).

I honestly don't think they Quarians look like space elves under the suits, but I don't think they are all that much dissimilar to humans either. As I say, the Ascention novel didn't mention any really unusual features, so it seems likely they look human-ish (aside from the lack of ears). Add to that, knives seemed to have no problems cutting them outside of the suit (I won't go into the details of the story) it seems unlikely they have Turian style skin.

If this has already been mentioned I apologize, didn't want to read through all 10 pages, but I imagine that Bioware probably had an idea of how the Quarians looked under their helmets which they then had to scrap to appease the Tali fanboys. She probably wasn't originally designed to be especially attractive or unattractive, just alien. Then once they knew she was going to be an LI they sexed her up a bit, wouldn't be surprised if she does indeed look like a "space elf."

You know, you can kind of see the outline of her face under the faceplate. She's got a big, hooked nose, an oddly sloped forehead, and her eyes appear strangely placed, almost lopsided. Anyone ever see the movie adaptation of 30 Days of Night? Maybe quarians are space vampires.

Are you looking at the same quarian? I don't see any of that.

That mask certainly leaves a lot to interpretation, doesn't it?  Guess you'll have to wait till ME3 to find out whether or not the object of everyone's affection is really a pasty bird-faced leech woman.  :innocent:

Considering they've been confirmed to be human-like, I don't have many worries.

If I were Bioware, I'd realize that the opportunity to troll so many fan boys is an offer that just can't be passed up.

I hope we think alike, and Tali ends up looking like the lovechild of Predator and Jay Leno.

Agreed. You can look at the siloette of Tali's face if you get the cinema in the right position, and I didn't see a hooked nose at all - as for the forehead, it seemed normal, but most if it is under the helmet.

Eh, I was a little disappointed when they didn't show her face in the game, but after looking at some of this fan art, I'm kind of glad they didn't.

With only one game left in the trilogy, and a *huge* amount of information to draw from, some stones are going to be left unturned in the Mass Effect universe. It wouldn't bother me if Bioware left some things, including de-masked Quarians, up to the imagination of the player / reader.

They can't be space-elves, they only have three fingers, whilst we all know that elves have five.

Also, elves (even space-elves) would never be stupid/blind enough to create the Geth.

I dunno there is this other "fantasy" game with elves that made a puddle that almost destroyed the world and brought down a army of demons and orcs...

People seem to be under the impression that the fact that Quarian eyes and nose seem to 'glow' through the helmet, mean her eyes glow... but surely it's just as likely, if not more so, that it's just a design choice rather than a design on actual Quarian features... after all, it's more interesting/mysterious to be able to see some generic facial features like that rather than just a blank faceplate.

Quarian faces aren't a complete mystery. Bioware has released concept art of them on special edition games. They have normal faces. Shepard smiled when he took off the mask, didn't he? They're pretty.

Personally, I would prefer quarians not to be "elves-like". Need something more alien-looking, but still with humane face. If I wanted to romance space elf, I would romance the damn asari-Liara.
