@Collider: That's a serious estimate.  I've only seen one tali fan art that doesn't put her as a space elf.

Just goes to show you the prevalence of elves within fantasy. Like I said, most tali art doesn't even show her face. The ones that do, I guess you could assume that a large amount has elf ears. Lack of imagination on the author's part.

Elves are just humans with pointy ears anyway. So really, you don't want Quarians to look too human.

Which is what most of the fan art puts her as.

Default137: You play Orks in 40 K, don't you?

But Quarians do have skin, eyes, noses, tearducts, lips, teeth.... The Asari are extremely humanoid, so does that make them "Space elves" even though they don't have ears? If Quarian faces looked like Asari ones, does that still count?

It's going to be one extreme or the other with Tali.

I will not be surprise if Tali's face is something less than "pleasant."

Something to put the Talimancers in an awkward position of "loving her no matter what."

Let me tell you, RAGE will be had, perhaps the worst ever to grace the BW forums.

This is true when tali is finally un-masked to the players the amount of Nerd Rage on this forum will crash the BW servers... and possibly the EA ones to for good measure.

I thought they were similar to Taurians. I was assuming a slightly scaly Tali. No hair or ears.

If you look closely at Tali's visor during cutscenes, you can sort of make out a human shaped nose hidden in there.

No, because Asari don't have the ears.  And the glowing eyes that would specifically make Quarians night Elves in space/

I think most Tali fans, myself included, like Tali for her personality. :) I don't really care how Quarians look, but I'll hope to find out in Mass Effect 3!

this gives me some hope that they aren't elven.

i have no idea why OP thinks tali fans want a space elf.

i, a tali fan, honestly dont care if she looks like grunt. i just need to freaking see it so i can stop guessing.

The Asari are already essentially elves in space - long lived, philosophical, deadly warriors when they choose to be, etc. etc.

lol the romance option for her in ME2, when you actually go to 'do it' she takes off her helm but you still don't get to see her face. And yeah I hope she's not a space elf.

Maybe because every tali unmasked fan pic I see (with the exception of one that basically makes them gray humans with glowing eyes) makes her a space elf.

Well, she does seem to have glowing eyes.

People don't really want a space elf, they just want Tali to be attractive.

I expect that the glowing eyes are nothing more than to add expression or substance to a face that is almost completely obscured by a helmet.  Consider that the volus have the glowing eyes on their suits that flash to indicate blinking.  I think it is artistic license, nothing more.

I agree, no space elves.

I'm a big fan of Tali's character, and I REALLY hope they show her face in ME3. I know they are very human-looking -- you can tell through the helmet -- and that is fine. As for the finer points, though, I think I'd prefer something distinctive and at least fairly alien. Most fanart seems to depict her either as elven or as just an oddly colored human, which seems like a waste of a good opportunity for a unique and attractive race. Not that I'd be disappointed if Tali looked like an attractive human, but still... something different would be nice.

I don't know what they'll come up with, but I am really curious :)

Personally, I'm not for or against the space elf look, but, seriously, if Tali DOES look like a beautiful space elf... how on EARTH is that a bad thing?

I'm guessing the resistance would be from,
A: not having been subjected to that online detritus?
B: Hoping the Devs NEVER show their faces!(obvious disappointment from so many of y'all)

That Pic up there^^^.....Of all things UNHOLY, ...............please do not go there!!!!(from the neck down ok, however Image IPB for the face!!!!!

When you get right down to it, Quarians NEVER leave their suit.

They have to have the worst complexion in the world, and must smell something rank.
