Like a grey human?  Meh...  I'd hope for a slightly more unique morphology than that.
I don't think they could do anything to make me not like Tali, but that seems like a fairly anti-climactic conclusions to the "what do Quarians look like?" question.

Because elves do not belong in space.  Just look at Warhammer 40 K.  Any attempts to make that universe semiserious (which they have actually tried to do) is laughable because of the space orcs and space elves.

@Collider: That's a serious estimate.  I've only seen one tali fan art that doesn't put her as a space elf.

(Eldar and Orcs go well with the sci-fi. It was just ridiculous when they had dwarfs. Tyranids killed them off at the beginning of the 2nd Edition, though)

But I think Tali should stay masked. Once you have such a big mystery about her face, you can only dissatisfy the people, no matter what you do. Someone will always complain.

I expect something pallid, bald and possibly scaly, but still exotically attractive. I certainly hope that they're not just oddly proportioned humans.

Maybe because every tali unmasked fan pic I see (with the exception of one that basically makes them gray humans with glowing eyes) makes her a space elf.

It's her personality, to be certain.  I would like her to be attractive, but if she is not, it would not detract from her awesomeness.

I hope she has the Predator type mandabled mouth, or tentalces, not too much but about 4 maybe 5. No ears, keep the glowy eyes, and very pale scales.

Space elves would be really stupid lol. Mass Effect has done well at being unique with aesthetic designs so far. Giving an alien an elvish look would kinda go back on that a bit. I don't bother looking up fan art to much of anything because the majority of that fan art you'll find will be done by anime fans with already tainted-by-cliche views. Not all Tali fans are freaks by the way. A few of them are just very vocal, the "fan base" for characters like Thane or Jack or Miranda or whoever are likely to be the same, just seemingly less outspoken.

It has already been done, twice that I know of.  Both times it was 70+% in favor of unmasking, with at least ~200 votes.

The attraction to Tali comes much more from her longstanding relationship with Shepard and her endearing personality.  The mask piqued curiosity at first, but the idea that people like her just because they can't see her face I find kind of preposterous.

To me, and to most other people I suspect, Tali is a character that exists independent of ourselves.  Bioware created her, not me.  Leaving it up to me to give her a face is not satisfying because I don't feel entitled to do it.  Whatever I dream up, I never feel like I could say "this is Tali" -- it would just be a guess.
