Space elfs would be pretty hot. I'm all for a purple space elf tali. http://img97.imagesh...aliconcept2.jpg Tali is freakin hot like this.

We alreadly know they are based off turrians and asari as it says in the wiki's. They are prob mostly asari like face and head wise if they have no hair. Or they can look like space elfs because bioware wants them to be attractive. Hell you can be a elf in dragon age. I don't see the issue. Elfs are commion in fantasy, its about time we saw them in space.

Dude elves have five fingers and five toes. She not some stupid space elf. Besides she has (spoiler) I think she has ears how could they fit in that suit anyway with out getting cramped up?

I can't imagine Quarians being to attractive. They can almost never remove thier suits. Their skin complexion must be terrible.

But of course if that was true there would be a massive amount of nerd rage. So if BioWare does unmask her, she will be attractive. Probably just look like a human with her skin dyed some exotic color.

I'm sure they'll make them look unique if they choose to show them, like the rest of the races.

I double dare you to call him a spaceElf!!

OK, he's a space elf.

And now that he is retired, all he does is take pictures of breasteses with moody lighting.

^ People like this are the reason I would really HATE to see Tali and the other Quarians looking like elves. And that picture is really lame. Doesn't fit the Quarians at all. Whether or not a character design looks hot should definitely not be one of the main driving factors when designing something.

I'm a fan of Tali but god I hope she doesn't end up being some anime fanboy or WoW fanboys wet dream.

We may never get to see their faces so who knows....

I always felt they would resemble humans expect for the hands and feet.

The ears don't have to be WoW sized, some would argue.

And the five fingers, five toes thing is why I'm saying space elf rather than: Elf.

I'm a big Tali fan, and i hope to God that they don't make Quarians look like any sort of elves. that would just be so boring and uncreative.

What he said.

I personally feel the Space Elf slot is filled by the Asari anyway. The only really differing factor with them is their all-female thing and lack of ears. They're very mystical, biotically potent, live extremely long and are technologically advanced.

But Quarians do have skin, eyes, noses, tearducts, lips, teeth.... The Asari are extremely humanoid, so does that make them "Space elves" even though they don't have ears? If Quarian faces looked like Asari ones, does that still count?

See, with species like the Asari we weren't given any chance to speculate on what they were or how they looked.  It was just "BAM" there they are, the Asari, this is what they look like.  Same as any other race (except the recently added Raloi)

With the Quarians we've been given plenty of time to root ourselves into a "this is what they will look like" mindset, and we're going to end up being frustrated if Bioware makes them look like what someone ELSE was expecting.

This is why I think Bioware should avoid making them look like anything anyone expects them to be.  If they put their own unique spin on it that doesn't look like anything any fan had conceived, then no one can argue that only part of the fanbase got catered to and everyone can agree on the quarians' appearance.  They're going to have humanoid features, but that's all we should expect.

So no, I don't want them to be "overly human" looking, be it elf or human or whatever, I'd like to be (pleasantly) surprised.

Did a Tali fan ****** in your coffee, by chance?

I hope she looks more humanoid than alien. Closer to an elf than say a Na'vi, however I would prefer to see quarians regardless of what they look like. The mystery for me has gone from cool to annoying.

If you talk to Grunt he specifically says that humans, asari, and salarians are 'soft'-- and that Quarians are not so much.

So she's not soft. Whatever that means.

I don't really see what the big deal is.

Are some pointy ears going to just kill the deal for you?

Bioware will handle it.

It's going to be subjective to the individual whether or not she's a "Space elf", because she isn't, she's a Quarian.

Stop caring so much about it. Just accept the mystery. I'd prefer a more alien than human look. Especially seeing as how the Asari look human enough, from a sci-fi standpoint a human looking Quarian race would only make sense on the TV Star Trek series where the budgets are lower. In Mass Effec they have the freedom to be unique, I'd rather not see them squander that. We can see some of their facial features through the helmet already to know that they appear somewhat human-ish, but they've still got the wiggle room to be creative.

Screw generic elves, I say.

Well, she does seem to have glowing eyes.

People don't really want a space elf, they just want Tali to be attractive.

does that mean she has a glowing nose too? As you see light dance off that as well as her eyes.

But yes, i dont want her to look like a damn night elf, nor do I want her to have a completely human looking face like the asari.

Obviously she has a humanlike mouth and nose, which is mentioned as canon,  but you can still make a play on that to look not so human and be attractive.

True. I was under the same impression, but someone who responded to me said that it is also possible Grunt is only saying that because Quarians are basically only in their suits, and those suits would be good not to be easily damaged.

Also, agree with another poster in here. You've really only two eyes and a nose to base your interpretation of Tali's appearance. Aside from that, there are some indications that her skin color may be gray.

That' could just mean that their environmental suits get in the way.

Anywhoo, space elves are a no-no.

Eldar = Space Elves

Quarians = Space Gypsies

See the difference?

What would be interesting after the fact would be seeing all the concept art. They had a lot of concepts for Thane, Tali is an already established character so they may have had an established face and than went back and redesigned it after she became one of the more popular characters. The description of the quarian (I believe it was in one of the books) seemed intentionally vague like they are toying with us or waiting for some big reveal in ME3.

Tali was already a planned romance option in the first game, but then Bioware decided against it because they were worried she wouldn't be popular enough to justify the resources.

Tali fans proved them wrong.

The Tali cultists may go overboard aplenty, but I sure as hell am glad the Talimance is in the second game all the same.

Asari already fill the category of space elves.
