He is an awesome team member and my favorite from ME2. Now, I wouldn't want to have coffee with him...but in a fire team, hell yeah. A team with Wrex and Zaeed would be....just unkind to the baddies.

FROM WHAT I AM TOLD: If you are on high difficulty (Insanity?) or a new game+, requirements skyrocket. In the case of new game+, it's not intended.
Considering that new game+ resets your bars to 0, so have even less than the Imports. It is why I always started with a new import or new game (which is silly because I have a tonne of imports). I avoided new game+.

From what I read, it also depends on how late you do his mission.

Zaeed's one of my favourite characters, both for his utility in combat (gets assault rifles, good against armour, shields, and barriers), and for his personality. I really enjoy his war stories, and his evaluations of the other squad members. Personally, I can see him sticking with Shepard after the smoke has cleared. He seems like the archetypal soldier-of-fortune, but he has a certain forthrightness (if no nobility) that seems to have been stifled in mercenary work. I think he wants to do something more meaningful with his remaining years.
He's 40 .. Human can live for over 150 years old .. He's not near death
Even for today .. 40 it's not very old. It's middle aged.

If I had the chance to go back to do the mission again I'd probably go renegade. But I did go Paragon and I'd probably stick to my decision.mabalogna wrote...
I go renegade on Zaeeds loyalty mission, not because I need his loyalty, but because I know Zaeeds got my back in whatever I decide, so I want Zaeed to know that I got his back too.
That said, I didn't think Zaeed pulling that little explosive stint was professional at all. If I hadn't spent time getting to know him I'd think he's a cold-blooded killer. But he apparently cares for innocent lives more than most people on my team. So I can't help but wonder if he'd come to regret it later. Of course being the tough SOB that he is, he'd never admit to regretting it ha!

Watching Vido go up in flames is just too damn fun.

I play paragon but always let Zaeed kill Vido. Zaeed is one badass dude.
Killing Vido is thousand times more important, than saving those losers who can't turn valves by themselves.

I am planning on going pure (Or almost pure) Paragon, but that also means I can't agree with Zaeed on his loyalty mission. I want to save the workers, and doing so will allow his target to escape.
Now. I wonder if that will cause someone to die in the suicide mission or not? What if I upgrade the entire ship as well as all the weapons, gets the loyalty from everyone else and keep zaeed in my team in the end mission. Will everyone survive then? Assuming I use the right member for the right parts.
Zaeed isn't good at commanding a group, no tech and no biotic, so he isn't given any big roles.
Anyone know if it is possible to keep everyone alive and not have Zaeed being loyal, or are there another way to get him loyal and still save the workers? I heard of someone getting a glitch that got him loyal, even if they didnt let the workers die

With a high enough Paragon/Renegade you can convince him that he was derailing the mission for personal reasons at the end of his mission. This will make him loyal. Otherwise leave him guarding the line and he should make it out.
