If he returns in ME3, in any way, you know what I would really like to see? (being as realistic as possible, of course). A line or two of flirting with Shepard.
Seriously, would it be so out of place!? A humorous line or something! Considering how femShep acts in Jacob's romance, would it be so out of place to have her compliment Zaeed? Even in a "are you joking or are you serious" way? Think about what they wrote for Samara, in the end. I think that was a intelligent move on their part. Having even one line like that with Zaeed would be easy to write, and AWESOME for his fans.
Just sayin'. Hey, Zaeed's creators and writers have the right to know how much we love their character.
You kidding me? I al- I mean my Shepard already wants to jump his bones.
Yeah a lot of us do, but (at least I) know they won't make him a romance... Seriously, see what they consider accpetable human love interests for femshep: Kaidan, and Jacob. Now compare them to Zaeed. See? If they put Zaeed through the "femshep Love Interest-izer" filter they could ruin his character! They would need serious writers and some commitment if they wanted to make it right.
If they're up for a challenge, then I say go for it. But if they're not (I don't believe they are), a few lines of flirting would make a lot of us very happy.

I would pay an extra 5-10 bucks if he was still involved when ME3 comes out.
A quick list of his "normal" concussive shot remarks:
GET DOWN!
THIS'LL PUT 'EM DOWN!
FIRING CONCUSSIVE SHOT!!
Also, Robin Sachs, his voice actor just solidifies his character with his voice.
Also, Sgt. Driving instructor from spongebob, look it up.

Grunt, Thane, Samara, Garrus and (particularly) Wrex never say "Oi, I'm well 'ard, you'd best not mess with me," and their characters seem so much more threatening and strong as a result because they don't feel the need to force it on other people like Zaeed does.
Also, I'm English too, so the accent doesn't work on me

Not "GET DOWN!", but "SIT DOWN!", as I heard it

I really don't like Zaeed's character. For me, he's an unnecessarily pugnacious character, he tries way too hard to act tough and I very quickly tired of his brash character. I always felt he was a bit of a stereotype, far more so than any other character, even Jack or Grunt.

Neither does Zaeed. In fact, if you take him along on certain missions, you'll realize he does have a heart, does care about things, does have limits to what he will do, etcetera. You're making assumptions. He's a complete badass, but not really a stereotype.

I just had the most awesome vision.
*Shep drags Jacob down to the trash compactor*
Shep: "Hey Zaeed, help me stuff this a-hole out the garbage chute!"
Jacob: "But, but, the priiiiize! I looooove you! You're my prize!"
Zaeed: "Bloody hell shut up!"
Shep: "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!"
*punches eject*
Zaeed: "So I wonder if it's 51 or 52 operatives now.."
Shep shrugs: I'm just glad I don't have to listen to him antagonizing my friends and second guessing my orders all the time.. why the hell did I talk to him like that anyways? Musta just been to mess with his head.. yeah, that's it.."
Zaeed: "Whatever you say Shepard."

Stop hanging out in the cargo bay and just move into my cabin. We can tear out the fish tank together and put up a cool display of guns and battle trophies. <3<3<3

Is Zaeed like all the other characters with dialog and stuff or does he just feel like an tacked on extra?
You don't get a dialogue wheel with him outside of his mission. We aren't sure why. Guesses are development issues..
My theory is that it pissed him off and he shot it to death.
That said, he actually has a lot to say if you give him a chance and keep an open mind. He has a LOT of dialogue. A LOT. You talk to him by clicking on him like any NPC.
He has stories to tell about several items in his room (for his gun, you have to keep clicking), and he will have a few things to say after each mission.
Unlike other squadmates, he will have contextual dialogue on the ship about missions. Follow up comments, like how Kaiden and Ashley had in ME1. Not for all of them, but for a lot of them.
He also has more interesting dialogue than most others while in mission. His in-mission contextual dialogue is generally more insightful into his character than others.
His loyalty mission is a wild ride with two different routes, Paragon and Renegade. Zaeed is pure Renegade, be aware of that, but you can actually redeem him to an extent in some of the options.
Anyways, we love him. He's awesome, and a lot of fun to have around. I suggest getting him immediately on Omega and taking him with you on all missions to get the msot out of him
Read this thread for more opinions on all of this. This thread is awesome

Personaly, I like the dude. He comes in handy when the fight starts with his high damage weapon output and instant inferno grenade (good crowd control+armor/health damage skill) and as said before, he has a lot to say on missions. Turns out he isn't just another ruthless thug, but a smart and well experienced merc veteran.
To all you haters out there, just take Zaeed on missions with you and give him a chance. He kinda grows on you.
