Since Bioware chose to implement Zaeed and Kasumi without dialogue wheels they obviously needed to give some method of communication to these characters so we may get an inkling of what they are like.

Zaeed tells stories of past missions.

Kasumi deals out the dirt with shipboard gossip.

If Zaeed is a tool for telling war stories, would that make Kasumi a nosy neighbor who can't keep her mouth shut? No. Their stories are meant to give some insight into their characters.

Zaeed spent 20 years as a bounty hunter and freelancer. If you bother to listen to his stories you'll hear most of that time was spent hunting down slavers, pirates, mercenaries and criminals. Not exactly the most savory characters in the galaxy. The stories are there to establish a background since without the dialogue wheel we can't go up to him and ask "What did you do after being shot in the head?"

Kasumi's gossip isn't just there as idle girly chatter. It's showing that as a thief and infiltrator she's able to find out tidbits of information that maybe no one else is supposed to know. It also shows that she's intuitive and picks up on items most would overlook (such as Morinth pretending to be Samara).

Well said, KOKitten. It's so unfortunate that not many people really get that. People also say that he feels tacked on, but why wouldn't you want a ruthless guy like Zaeed to plow through all the baddies with bullets, fire, and rage?

You know, I watched the Zaeed trailer again today and noticed a moment where he was wielding the Revenant, shooting at an escaping Vido. It would have been nice if he had an upgrade which let him use it.

Maybe such upgrades and improvements will be made in the next game! If Zaeed ends up being a team member in ME3, I would die happy. Please Bioware!! Help prove to all the naysayers the awesomeness of Zaeed!

How do you mod the game? I have a PC version, and I've heard that there's some sort of editing program that allows you to make some changes. Is that the same thing? And do you happen to know what it's called and how I can get that?

i like Zaeed, he is up front with you and a no bull**** kind of guy, and it seems every other word he says is goddamn, with that accent makes him a badass. i bring him along to a lot of missions just to hear him talk. he cracks me up

I love the way he says "Goddamn"! Speaking of his accent, does anyone know exactly what regional accent he has? I know that his voice actor is born in London, but I don't know much about British accents (is there even such a thing as a London accent?) Anyone from England here?

@Peppard - Great limerick! The part about the inevitable conclusion happening only in a delusion is so sad, but true... even if he isn't an LI, I would be grateful to Bioware if they include Zaeed in ME3!

Chuckles...so true about the dialog wheel. We can only hope that Robin Sachs has been contracted for ME3 so we can actually interact with Zaeed. I feel so silly standing there listening to Zaeed talk AT my Shep instead of with her.

I don't remember how to anymore since I have been playing DA:O Instead of Mass Effect lately Check the non spoiler forum, there's a thread or two focusing on modding.

He ALREADY has plenty of both, it's just not presented in the usual way, and so people cry foul.

Do I want a dialogue wheel? Yes! But we don't have one, so I make do.

Romance? Um, I wish, but that's also not happening.

It's horrible. In combat, he will stand up ouit of cover to shoot his sniper rifle, and instead of fighting my enemy, I sometimes catch myself staring at his rear lololol!

I do that, too!    Or I'll make my Shepard walk behind him for that same view.  I could hear him say, "Shepard, what the hell are you doing?"

Yes. Zaeed's a Londoner. You don't get that accent anywhere else.

And speaking of Zaeed's physical... assets... (I know. Lame pun, I'm sorry) I came across this really interesting article which included some REALLY amazing detailed pictures of our favorite character. I'm going to link it because the pictures are quite large and I don't know how they'll appear in the thread.

I was staring at his hands in the full body images, because they seemed proportionally small to me, (which wouldn't make sense because why would these talented artists and modelers make a human proportionately inaccurate?) but then I realized it's probably because his arms are quite large in comparison.

And something else that I've been thinking about... Zaeed's age.

I know this is something that's been in debate by a lot of people (he's officially 40 years old, but looks older, he would have been too young to have helped to create a merc group, etc. etc.). But here's the thing that I've been thinking. Astronauts age slower than Earth-bound people because of time dilation. Zaeed is a space traveler, so if he's lived 40 years, even if taking into consideration the hard life he's led, would he look as old as he does? This is why I assume that Bioware made a slight error with his age/appearance matching up. Maybe they originally intended for him to be 40, but during the character development stage, his appearance changed dramatically (which it did. I'll find the concept image in a bit) and forgot to update the age.

What do you guys think? (Sorry for the long post!)
