Zaeed truely embodies what it means to be not only a badass individual but also a human being. He is a shining spirit of heroism in the ever darkening universe. A man of action if you will. He's a capable warrior, and noble to the core. While many people cannot agree with his methods, I believe that when all is said and done he always does the right thing. He is the futures John Draper with grenades.

Personally, I don't think Zaeed is noble to the core. I don't love him less because of that. I actually love him more because of it. To me he is the most human character in game. He acts on his instincts and his experience. His feelings sometimes get the better of him and cloud his judgement. Doesn't make him a less good person though. Just a person with flaws, that's far from perfect. I like that...

I doubt though that he will always do the right thing in the end. He's in for the money and the fight. I don't really think he cares which side is right and which is wrong. Right now, he understands that there's a galaxy to save and that he is getting paid for it. If he dies along the way, then he thinks, it's a risk that any other job brings as well.

I've been thinking:

I have left the ME3 squad discussions behind, but... As I keep stumbling upon these retarded "Zaeed's DLC, no chance he is coming back" statements, I need to do some venting as to why they are retarded.

Let's assume BioWare decides to do the wrong thing and waste resources on the ME2 squadmates' extensive comeback, instead of making new characters directrly connected to the plot. Then Zaeed is #1 candidate! Why? Precisely due to his being DLC! Simple commercial reasons. With the ME3 release BioWare/EA will want to encourage new customers (yeah, the slow ones, who still don't know what Mass Effect is, and are going to buy ME3 first) to buy ME1 and ME2 as well. And, naturally, they will want to encourage them to buy it new. How? By making the DLC matter more!

you think bringing back the old squadmates is a waste of resources?

Only core squadmate matters, Garrus, Tali, Samantha.

Then we have Joker and maybe liara (dont have shadow broker dlc)

Ashley/kaidan maybe come back as a little sidestory.

Not possible. This universe is not configured for Zombie-Zaeed.

This got me thinking - since Zaeed has already been shot in the head, and lived, does this mean that Zombie-Zaeed is no longer vulnerable to standard zombie destruction protocol?  Meaning that Zombie-Zaeed is all but invincible?

Dear Followers of Zaeed:

Thank you for showing the support for Zaeed. When i started this thread almost a year ago I was assured it would fall into obscurity as I felt the entirety of the bioware forums was in love with Garrus/Tali.

With the 1K+ ( hell, 2K+ and speeding nowdays) pages on some other characters, I must say - thank you for having a "whatever, I´m doing this...period!" and  starting this thread that still refuses to die. Much like Zaeed himself=]

A human being, yes. He felt real. A shining spirit of heroism, noble to the core, I´d say nah and stick with the "just a human". I suppose there could be a story buried in there somewhere of how Massani came to his present day.
Heh. Since I´ve lately rediscovered Simmon´s Hyperion tetralogy, I´d like to see it through his writing.
And Frank Miller could do some beautiful things with it. Methinks.

So from me to you. Thank you for all the support, lets keep it alive and hope the Bioware shows us some love and brings back Zaeed for one last hurrah! in mass effect 3

Hell yeah. And with absolutely zero sarcasm - we will see the day this thread makes it to 40. Slowly, painfully, but grinding it´s teeth and pushing ahead.

Indeed, Zaeed felt more... human than other characters. His personality and background come through wonderfully in his various tales from his life he tells Shep. Thus, he's not only well developed, but he did it without a Dialog Wheel! He was developed the old fashioned way, from blood, sweat, tears, and some gnarly facial bullet wounds.

One line always struck me with zaeed. He is only in it for the money, makes you kill people in a fire to get his loyalty, not evil but just a mercenary. Then later in the game he goes "come on shep lets go be heroes" later in the game.

It would be cool if in me3 we run into him and he is partying and has groupies and stuff from stopping the collectors and is loving life. Or have him as a squad mate but have his character be less gruff because fighting for good brought something out of him that he thought was gone when he was shot in the head

At first I didn't think that much of Zaeed. I kinda thought he was going to just be like the human Garus with a more Metal Gear feel. I didn't really use him all that much in my first few play throughs. Now I'm on, I think my 14th play threw with my Vanguard Colony/WarHero Shep and I find that he fits in really well with the way I'm playing threw the story. Also his stories are cool. Just wish he did more then two a visit. I hope he's in 3.

Ive started putting him in charge of the fireteams on the suicide mission, who else can handle the heat other than an alliance veteran/best bounty hunter in the galaxy, more combat experiance than miranda or garrus, and he sounds ace on the comms.

And i want to second what Zulu said, it makes sense that the DLC characters can make it into ME3. Maybe more Kasumi than Zaeed but still.

I think I've heard Zaeed's voice actor do voice-overs for trailers for a few Warhammer 40K games. I'll try to dig them up if I can but anything he says immediately sounds grimmer and darker which is good.

Did anyone watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Zaeed was in a bunch of episodes. He was Ethan, Giles' old frienemy from his rowdy youth. He did some good work on the show.

I made the mistake of making Zaeed my fire team leader in my first playthrough and lost Legion because of it! So now I always bring him to fight the HR.
Nothing's more awesome than seeing Zaeed help you back onto your ship after you saved his ass from falling into a bottomless pit!

As I deliberately had many squadmates die in the "suicide mission" (as if the Collectors could really shoot) I had no problem putting Zaeed in charge of the 1st Fire Team.

Have to say I do like Zaeed. He holds no illusions on what life is about, he sees it for all the filth and grime it has to offer and more or less accepts it. In a way, his character is much like the rest of the people that are never told about. Life is cruel, move on & deal with it. In his eyes, he's just trying to find a way to live with what's thrown at him. Easy to match his attitude to a western story cowboy. It's a refreshing change from so many teammates holding onto the idea that the universe should work a certain way.

That, and he's the only one with disruptor ammo. How my Vanguard cherishes that contribution to battle.

Like arbington pointed out, he is well developed for delivering without even having a dialogue wheel. Agree also on how he felt more human than other humans on your team. (Well, the permanent ship residents aside. Joker was certainly made to be important enough to give him a believable - and quite likeable - personality. Also the others with their tidbits, the doctor, the mechanics and the janitor/cook. But that´s not as personal as someone having your back in immediate danger in the battlefield. IMO.)

He´s almost a stereoptype for a mercenary, perhaps that´s what makes it easier to relate to him even with only hearing his monologues.

At first, seeing him on Omega, he rubbed me the wrong way. On his loyalty, it got worse. After taking him on missions, the dislike gradually vanished and turned into shameless admiration.

Can´t really say any other character´s developement had that kind of impact in my eyes.

If he´s carried over, I wonder if he´s treated as a cutthroat with/without a conscience, thus

expanding his character or left a usual blank that makes remarks only to your paragon/renegade actions.

A good description of Zaeed would be "Merc with a Heart of Gold". Even though he's a stereotypical rampaging, killing, people-incinerating mercenary, he's got this "Code of Honor" going for him. He seems like, even though he won't hesitate to kill a guy, it doesn't mean he wants to. Unless it's Vido. He really wants to kill him.

I just completed my renegade playthrough a few days ago. Had five survivors by the end run. Zaeed and Mordin were left to hold the line by themselves and both survived!

HAH, and people say Mordin dies too easily.
