Anyone else notice that his armor looks like pieces of another suit from another game published by EA? A game with freakish zombies?

You probably mean Dead Space.

I have very little hope seeing him in Mass Effect 3, but if he does appear and is actually recruitable, then I'm super happy.
Better yet, make him love interest for FemShepards :P

A bit unrelated to Mass Effect..
My friend showed me this video & I can't help but think that Zaeed (Robin Sach) is narrating it.  :D

I was planning a photomanip, but then Zaeed kick-assed his way into being included. Here is the result: http://social.biowar...index/5943995/1

I've been thinking:

I have left the ME3 squad discussions behind, but... As I keep stumbling upon these retarded "Zaeed's DLC, no chance he is coming back" statements, I need to do some venting as to why they are retarded.

Let's assume BioWare decides to do the wrong thing and waste resources on the ME2 squadmates' extensive comeback, instead of making new characters directrly connected to the plot. Then Zaeed is #1 candidate! Why? Precisely due to his being DLC! Simple commercial reasons. With the ME3 release BioWare/EA will want to encourage new customers (yeah, the slow ones, who still don't know what Mass Effect is, and are going to buy ME3 first) to buy ME1 and ME2 as well. And, naturally, they will want to encourage them to buy it new. How? By making the DLC matter more!

Oh yes, the WRONG thing to do would be to bring back all the developed and much-loved characters.  Wait... what?  I realize how difficult it would be to make most of the squad-mates come back as squad mates, but there is really no excuse.  Most fans would be extremely disappointed if most of the squad-mates weren't back in the new game.

Anyway, yes Zaheed is awesome, and probably my favorite human squad-mate in the game.  Jacob and Kaidan are bland, Miranda is a ****, and Ashley is the only other human I think is a very good character.

This has probably been mentioned already, but did you know you can kill Zaheed in his loyalty mission?  If you do it after the Suicide mission and chose to save the workers, you can leave him to burn in the fire.  Now I'm really excited about that, as he is too awesome to die that way and is sure to be hunting you down in ME 3!

I found it interesting that Shepard can leave Zaeed to die at Zorya post suicide mission, not pre-suicide mission though.  You have to have a high paragon score and two other squad members alive other than Zaeed, in order to do this.  I'm not sure why this is, other than the devs making it impossible to kill him prior to the suicide mission, in order to possibly help with the suicide mission itself.  Why give Shepard the option at all though, especially post suicide mission?  I don't know, but it gives me the impression that this may be the fate for Zaeed in the default ME3 game.

As much as I'd love it, if Zaeed returned to haunt those who jerkishly left him for dead on his loyalty mission, realisitcally, I think, it was one of the default options. But the devs switched it off pre- "suicide mission", to avoid crashes and stuff: because if you had Zaeed among the 8 required squadmates to trigger the Collector Cruiser mission, then killed him off on his loyalty and not recruited anyone else, you'd have 7 squadmates and still be able to start the "suicide mission", which would possibly result in crashes.

And chances are that in the default ME3 start ALL (or all but 2, one of them Miranda) ME2 squadmates will be dead.

It's probably just an easter egg, really.

I never even thought about the squad count Zulu, but you got a good point there.  They may have just left it in as an easter egg, as you say F Phoenix, but it also provides a perfect "Virmiresqe" situation for Zaeed in the default ME3.

After seeing what they did with ME2, I've held a suspicion for quite a while that there will be several cameos and small roles for different ones.  I even debated it a little last year, or argued about it on the forum, although I gave that up because it's pointless, and nobody knows anyway, except for Bioware, and they may not have it all lined out yet.

They have more flexibility with ME3, but I'm assuming the linearity will be similar to 1&2.   We'll see come December, or whenever it's released.

I always have liked Zaeed, and regardless of what others have said about his "me first" mentality, I've held the opinion that he has the credentials to lead a fireteam.  If he's loyal and Vito got away, then I suppose that even strengenths the argument.  Either way though, from a non-meta perspective, he would probably be towards the top of my list.  I imagine that most of the arguments against him leading a fireteam, can be made against the other 3 squadmates as well.

The part of him not being suitable as a leader of the fire-team is a bit puzzling. The fire-team should be no bigger in size than a merc-band, in the sense that it is a small tactical unit and he is an expert in both personal and small unit combat.
So is it just assumed - by the powers that be- that his mentality keeps him from truly looking out for his teammates therefore making him an uncapable teamlead? I find that difficult to believe. Almost makes it seem as all of his prior missions were "first there was ten, then there was nine..." with the goal completed in the end anyway. And him being, sigh, the only one to...=]
Or that others of the team would not follow his command to their best abilities, even if it´s Shepard´s call to have him lead?
The speculation sure becomes tiresome/fruitless/pointless after a while. Back to waiting...

If you can have your surviving squadmates I would think that would be the default option, as that would be a lot of work that only players with imported save files would have.

Regardless of who can be in your squad or not, I think that the others that are alive will at least have little cameos... so I'm still holding out on being able to run into Zaheed if you left him there.  It would be interesting, that's for sure...

The latter one has a good frosty color scheme. I really like the red/silver/blue combination.

"Zaeed... Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Can´t really tell after that ryncol..."

"Nah. She IS hanging on a ventilation pipe, performing neck-breaking moves to make your eyes water. From what I can tell, she´s been at it since she was born."

For those discussing possiblity of zaeed as a me3 squadmate there is a post that explains a creditable theory of me3 squad mates here http://social.biowar...index/5577461/1

from that we can see zaeed is unlikely to appear but nevertheless he made an impact in me2 as a badass character like a english gangster crossed with mr blonde from reservior dogs

Jack and beer? Always struck me as a whisky-person. Ryncol with Grunt - though I suppose he´d take after whatever Wrex is drinking. Wich would as well be ryncol. And Zaeed - well, what would you think? I´d vote for...whisky. Might even be in a jar:)

A slight kick in the, eh, quad, if you will.

Just supporting the guy with the green eye and an asari ex.

He has his warstories, easy to forget that he had this whole thing going on. Imagine that...

I remember reading somewhere that Zaeed used to be in the Alliance, but idk where. If he was, why doesn't he ever tell Shep about it?

Now where would be the fun in that :)

On the homepage most probably. States there his been mercing for 20 years, which makes his joining of the Alliance questionable. Given that he´s stated to be 40 yo.

Or he grew really tired really fast of all the rules. So there would not be anything to tell really.

Zaeed hints that he was in the service, when he tells you his "Verikan" story. He says it was his "first impossible mission as an independent contractor", implying there had been some before he went "independent".
