Zaeed is no different than Ruthless Shepard, so there's no reason why he shouldn't have worked as a fireteam leader.

Koji-san, over on Mass Effect Wiki's ME3 page, we have info on all the returning characters with sources. Zaeed is in, but we don't know how he's returning, like if he's in the squad. Kasumi is also returning, but her return was announced in a video, and we don't use videos as sources, so she isn't mentioned in the article. Hope this helps.

Certainly so Now if his character could get some more narrative meat to his bones... Hopefully he´ll be more fleshed out - it´d be nice to see behind the Killing Gramps layer.

Despite not having ''dialogue'' with him he's got plenty of depth. I'd rather not hear about his childhood, or how he got his heart broken at the high school problem.

When Shepard is teetering on the edge of death they die. When Zaeed is teetering on the edge of death he doesn't die, he spams this thing called rage which acts as an anesthetic. I think it's clear who's more badass.Honestly, I don't think anyone even comes close to touching Shepard's badassery.

Has any one ever thought that Zaeed could have been the first test subject for the Lazarus Project. Rage as an anesthetic is BS. I understand he's a badass, but surviving a shot to the head with a mass accelerated weapon is ridiculous. My paragade Shepard doesn't trust the guy, his conversation with Tarak confirmed my suspicions when Tarak suggests he handle his problem for him, meaning taking out Garrus himself. i was kind of afraid to leave him with Garrus. His quote about taking out 50 cerberus agents would warrant more of an investigation from TIM as to his combat prowess and select him as the first candidate for the Lazarus Project. But taking out cerberus agents isn't the same as taking out a Reaper. ("We will test it on Captain Solo") Just a thought.

Zaeed is a hell of a warrior but he lacks skills necessary to be a good commander and a team leader. The game makes it pretty clear, so I do not understand the whole confusion about him not being the right choice for Fireteam Leader. Hell, he lost his leadership in the Blue Suns due to lack of interpersonal skills!
Still, he is pretty badass. My Shep always paragon punches him in the face though, and goes off to save the workers, but then gains his loyalty with the charm option. I love the scene after Vido gets away. The pistol flip thing reminds me of a similar scene in Pirates of the Carribean between Jack Sparrow and Will Turner. Also, Zaeed's stories are great, I used to go down to engineering for them almost between every mission.
