So does that mean i will be switching to disc 2 for the middle part of game then back to disc 1 for the ending of game ?mattp420 wrote...
I would say Disc 1 would contain the first 25% and last 25%, while Disc 2 contains the middle 50%

If you have a large Xbox hard drive, you could install both discs to the drive, thus avoiding disc swapping (not to mention wear and tear on the notoriously flimsy Xbox DVD drives).
Are you certain this is possible? I have installed both discs on my hard drive, yet I'm still prompted to change discs at the appointed times.

That's exactly correct. Yeup.brelrande wrote...

While installing it to the harddrive will be easier on your Xbox and the discs, installing them will still require you swap the discs. I believe I read that it is for legal reasons.Crabhand wrote...

12.5 GB if you install both discs. DVDs can only hold 8. Hence = 2 discs.
If it ever goes to PS3 I'll bet money it's still on 2 discs.

You still have to disc swap even installing both, I thought it was going to be like Forza3, 2nd disc was a content disc(no disc swapping just install), and it was 9.5GB or so of content, and disc one was a play disc.

Because there is no reason other than piracy that it was on 2 play discs for 360, my point will be proven when it's put on games on demand in the XBL Marketplace, and in Forza3 as I've said somewhere either in this thread or another disc 1 play disc(option to install to reduce wear and load times) disc 2 content disc(9.5 or so GB of content install only) 2 play discs only makes sense if someone DOES NOT have a HDD, in which case I'm terribly sorry but come on I dont even think they make them without HDD anymore. And the elite is the only sku that's really even in production now which has 120GB of HDD space.

No I'm saying I'll bet it will be on account there was really not a HUGE reason to have more than one play disc for 360 other than piracy.

Bro I have no idea what you just wrote.
No offense but I'm not your bro. Not being a dick, I just dont care for, Brah, Bro, Mah-Boyee, Cat, Dog, Playa, etc.
Man, dude, Hammett, trooper, friend, Jon Ira, yeah those are cool with me right there.
360s have HDD, doesnt make sense how installing both should require you use both discs as play discs, you cant say because of content otherwise there would be no such thing as D2D, or Games on Demand, or Steam. I'm saying the reason for 2 discs is PIRACY. That's why I said I'd bet even if released on BD PS3 it'd be 2 PLAY DISCS.
for EXAMPLE again, Forza3 disc ONE play disc, disc TWO content/install disc. NO DISC SWAPPING.
I really am unsure how I didnt say anything in there already explaining what I meant.
With all that space on BD, they'd likely beef up textures, add the DLC we're getting now, add uncompressed audio so on and so forth. Which would give them more than a good enough excuse to say "we needed 2 Blurays to contain ME2 for PS3"

2. I'm just saying wouldnt surprise me, like I said the only real reason ME2 360 is on 2 discs is to combat piracy. Otherwise installing both discs would only require DISC ONE as a play disc. And if for some reason you have no HDD or not enough space disc swapping would then be required.

Let's say if you installed both discs, the game would only work if disc one were inserted. Let's further say that there's no mandatory installation.
If that's the case, and you have two XBoxes, you could buy one copy of the game and install it on one XBox. Then start the game on the XBox you didn't install on. Once the game asked you to swap discs, you could hand disc 1 to someone else and they could play on the XBox that had the full install while the first person could keep playing, thus resulting in two copies of the game running at once.
*That* is stopped by the disc swapping. But it would also have been stopped by making disc 2 a mandatory install and always requiring disc 1 (or vice versa).
And with ME2, the way the content is split, it would only work for so long -- when the person who hadn't done the install gets to the point where the game asks them for disc 1 back, the "window of opportunity" would be over.
No, no, the situation that this protects against is already difficult enough to exploit and the inconvenience to players is great enough that I just can't accept the validity of this reason. Bioware ought to patch the game so that if you've installed disc 2, then you can play with just disc 1. Not "either disc", just disc 1, that's a tolerable compromise (considering that everyone needs to swap back to disc 1 to finish the game).
Maybe even make this functionality depend on being plugged into the Cerberus Network thing too, whatever. But requiring the disc swapping is IMO the single worst thing they've done with ME2.
