I'm sure someone must have noticed that the sun that was always a backdrop for the Illusive man changed from orange to blue after you survive the suicide mission and speak to him to tell him to go frack himself. What meaning do you think that has? The blue white is similar to the color of the Paragon bar..where as the orange was similar to a renegade color.

I've only beat the game on Paragon so far, but I took for granted it remains orange if you preserve the base and go renegade and turns blue if you blow the base up. Kinda like those end screens in ME1.

Maybe it just means that things are heating up, since blue stars are hotter than orange stars.

Nah. It's probably just artistic, a subtle indication of which ending you received. Kind of pointless to think of it like that, but it's possible.

I love how you can take the choice "your on my team now" and then see him look out at the big paragon sun :P

we need some renegades in this topic telling us if it stays red or not.

I just checked on youtube and the sun is indeed red in the renegade ending.

So it was blue because we chose paragon choices. Considering how long the new blue sun was in shot, I wonder if it means something?

I know this is nitpicky... but I can't help it.

It's called a "star" not a "sun".

TIM tinted it to represent his mood towards shepard.

uhh..what do blue and red mean again? cause its probably mixed up; silly TIM.

yea, its just to show you that your a paragon or renegade like in ME1.

Blue sun makes the ending look cooler than if it was red.

what i found weird about the "Star" is that in mass effect 3 it changes back to the original star colour.

I always wondered if there was any significance to it, other than choosing paragon / renegade. It would be kind of odd that The Illusive Man would go, "I'm angry, so my shade for the day is blue!" or "Muwhaha! More power to me. I'll leave my wallpaper the same. It is a good contrast with my baby blue eyes".

Then again, the ending isn't really that great to any ME game, if you ask me. You don't get any really different ending sequences (like in, example, Silent Hill). Still, ME2 at least gave us a great view of the reapers coming to get us.

I distinctly remember that they had said that the colour of the star would have a significance in ME3. I think this was back when they were planning to go with the Dark Energy ending for the series.
Then Synthetics vs Organics ending rolled in, and many little mysteries, like Tali's dying star and Illusive man's star changing colour got pushed under the rug, and everyone pretended they just didn't happen.
