It's hard to admit, but I fell victim to the holiday onslaught of new games just when I was getting near the end of Dragon Age. The Steam holiday sale didn't help, and neither did the fact that I got several games like Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2 as presents.

So, long story short, I haven't beat the game yet. Was wondering if anybody was in my boat - playing catch-up before Awakenings hits store

Forum go boom! Not sure what happened to your post there.

On topic though, the GF still hasn't beaten it, she made it up till the landsmeet where *spoilers* well you all know what Alistair does. But anyways she refuses to play further until I "find a patch that fixes it" for her.

lol, don't feel bad. I didn't finish my first playthrough until December. With all the people talking about how they'd done 5-6 playthroughs already, I felt like a total outcast before I beat the game.

I have several friends who have not beaten it either, although I have beaten it four (debatably five, if you count reloading from a midpoint and doing it again with the same character) times.

Also, Vilmon is an excellent choice of name for a Templar. I'm hoping you're making the reference I think you're making :)

When I heard news of the 'Return to Ostagar' DLC, I stopped playing, as I didn't want to beat the game without experiencing some of the dlc - I wouldn't be very motivated to explore new stuff if the game was beat. Then it took forever to come out due to problems for 360 players.

THEN they announced awakenings.

So i'm knee-deep in mass effect 2, hoping to beat it and get into dragon age just in time to finish what I need to and enjoy the new coming content with a degree of fluidity.

i bought DAO thanks to a friend who told me how awesome it was, begging me to buy it so we could share diff ways of laying the game. The reviews i had read in gameinformer mag also helped a good bit.. But when i beat it i went call my friend up and asked him how he went about it..how he saved fereldan..and he said he hadn't even got past the broodmother yet..i felt like killing him..pretty sure he is still in the same waters that you're in..the part that almost made me go murder on him was when he told me he actually just rented it for a few days...

I got it nov 5th and I've played only DA:O since then, still havent beaten it. It's due to wifey & kids + job and side business.

I have my main character 80 hours in, about to go to the landsmeet, but I have him on hold right now. I have a 2nd character in Lothering and a 3rd who just arrived in Ostagar. My plan is to finish the game with at least 2 or 3 characters, so I'll keep my first on hold til at least one more is at the landsmeet.

I've still not beaten it, not even nearly. I got sidetracked from the main quest and did Warden's Keep and the Stone Prisoner and then ended up playing other games and haven't got back to DAO yet. I'm just now thinking thats its time to stick it back on but it's competing with MAG, Fifa, Borderlands, Army of 2 that I've barely touched either. Also I think my gaming tastes are changing and certainly I've lost my desire to go trophy hunting. Hoping to get back in to DAO big time soon and am 3/4 of the way through the second book. Then there's Heavy Rain coming out in a couple of weeks *sigh*

I'm playing 7 characters simultaneously, so no, I haven't got anywhere near finishing. It's going to take awhile, in the meantime doing my best to avoid spoilers.

Not me either. I have been playing a lot of other games recently. But I will finish it, oh yes. One day.

I'm the end but haven't finished yet. Need to grind more. Plus I'm sharing it with two other people who I have just gotten hooked. Rookie mistake, hook people AFTER you complete the game

Yes, RPG, I am a huge fan of the Warmachine minis game. I should add that putting together the new Menoth warjack boxset has also cut into my time, although I haven't played that many Mark II games yet.

To answer your question, having beaten the game wouldn't change anything for you ;) Sorry I just couldn't resist that huge "spank me" sign above the thread's title :P

But in all seriousness, enjoy what the game has to offer you in your own pace.. as long as you don't need 1000 hours to beat it, you'll be on the safe side ;)
