I know we've all seen the Tali thread up near the top much of the time.  Also with lots of hits are the Thane and Garrus threads, and I've also seen Miranda, Jack, Liara and even Ashley threads.  These threads are full of people who want these characters back as romance options or simply companions in ME 3 and support them.  However, I've heard virtually no discussion on any thread about Jacob Taylor.

So what is it about Mr. Taylor that *isn't* as exciting as every other character, since nobody talks to him?  Does his romance suck (I haven't been able to try a female Shepard yet, so I wouldn't know).  Do people just not like his character, or the way he develops?   I'm curious.

I liked Jacob.

He was probably the only character that was normal, and didn't have something wrong with him.

I have yet to romance him. I liked his loyalty mission more than I like him. Haha. He just seems kind of bland to me. Maybe I need to just talk to him more...

I think most people are just indifferent to him, considering him not not as interesting as the other characters and a bit more bland. Also, from what I've heard, Female Shepard can't talk to him without flirting, something that irritates those who don't want to romance him

Its not that he's bad, its just he gets over shadowed.

He's just a normal guy which maybe why he seems bland and I too find his saluting annoying (I run the ship informally).

If that part about femshep allways flirting with him is true I can see it being annoying if you dont plan on romancing him.

I liked Jacob from the moment I met him. Didn't know what was going on, and when he stopped to tell me what the situation was and who he worked for.... bonus points!



From that moment on, I knew I could trust him and he'd be straight with me.

He's just.....a normal guy. Nothing special about him, but nothing wrong with him either. he's safe, and average. He's like the friend zone of ME fandom.

He got some love, it's just fans don't bump up his threads enough, and they get buried pretty quick. I thought he was cool, there's just not a whole lot to say about him. XD

I think Jacob was a stand up guy. Anti-Cerberus as I am, I was happy to have him as part of the crew.



I think people that meet him first on a FemShep are a little put off by him because all your lines to him sound like cheap comeons.

It's not that no one likes him, in my opinion he's way more interesting than Kaiden he just doesn't stand out as much as the others. People like him but they don't love him.

He was like Kaidan, he could handle everything himself and he didn't really need you on an emotional level. That's fine, but since great character relationships are built upon the exchange of emotions he just felt flat to me. Also standoffish.

I like Jacob just fine, but I HATE how my fem Shep talks to him. I cannot stand it, they really dropped the ball on the whole let you guys makes your own decisions thing with Jacob. I did not expect his romance or flirting to be pushed down my throat, but there it was.

Nooo!! My Shepard doesn't talk or act like that for at least 3 converstations!

Jacob is pretty cool. He's my paragon Sheperd's best buddy. His character is pretty interesting. I hope he comes back in ME 3. We've much partying to do to celebrate surviving the suicide mission

I thought he was cool, and like a lot of people were saying, he was probably the most straightforward, realistic character. Maybe he just doesn't have the "coolness" factor of Thane or Garrus.

I don't see anything wrong with Jacob. Just there is nothing that makes him standout. I did like him more than Kaiden though.

Sounds like a fun character to me - and he was a fun character. I could relate to him. Not every character has to need you to play psychologist.

It's not that I dont like him, if it was RL he would be one of those people you always talk to if you see them, but they are never quite your friend. He's bland tbh, very bland.

He needs to laugh, or get angry. He has no emotion.

I thought the opposite of kaiden. I loved kaiden.
