It doesn't appear as if I can make a Poll here so:
1. ME1
2. ME2
3. Both equal.
4. Not sure.
I'm sure this thread may have been done before (can't find a search feature) if so please link me to it, I'm very curious to get the communities thoughts...
Did you like Mass Effect 1 or 2 better?

I'm torn. ME2 has good gameplay but I like how in ME1 I wasn't forced to be behind cover every second. In ME2 if you step out of cover you're dead, I liked using a combination of cover and shooting while moving in ME1, I feel too restricted in 2 I'm stuck popping up to shoot, down to regenerate.

ME1 for reasons that will be flamed with everyone ironically questioning my mental fortitude with stupid 1-2 sentence insults.

Both were good ME2 is the best though.

Its hard to say. both have there pluses and minuses. I favor more ME1 because it suits my kind of RPG. ME2 is great. I don't like the new combat duck and cover feature. I find it annoying. I also don't like the sticky helmets during dialog etc. I do like the new Normandy and the crew. ME2 dialog makes the game far superior to ME1. I love all the little details in ME2.. Captain quarters kickass.

There are some things that is better in ME 2 but as a whole, no contest for me at least...ME 1 all the way, just think of the races with the Mako through heavy fire and advancing towards Saren, my god nothing in the sequal is even close to that race. Goosebumps all over again.
In fact I have a save in ME 1 so I can relive that whenever I want to
All the twinkering (rpg things, Talents, upgrades, ammo, armor etc) is also miles ahead in the first one imo!

ME1 for the story progression, exploration, and the RPG elements
ME2 was very pretty and gave me a taste of what gears of war would be like with a RPG taste.

ME2 is the better game, ME1 has a better story. And that's no fault of ME2's, because it's a lot easier to make a story interesting when virtually nothing is known. There is the "wow" factor when you first learn about the Reapers, for example. Nothing in ME2 can match that but it does a nice job of moving events toward ME3.

ME2 for both story and gameplay. I would have originally said ME1 for story, but I went back and played through it again after finishing ME2 and.. Well, it just didn't seem to come close to the excitement in ME2's story (but that's probably because I already knew everything that happened).

Well if ME2 was worse then ME1 then that would mean bioware has failed doesnt it? And wtf about story, I thought its the same story continued. ME2 has a better polished gameplay, and interactions although some aspects annoyed me like not being able to visit the citadel grounds, and etc... Cities you already have been to. But overall ME2 was a great successor to ME1

ME is the better game.
Mass Effect was like virtually LARPing in space with laser guns.
Mass Effect 2 disappointed me by becoming another Halo-esque shooter.

Mass Effect 2 has now become my favorite game of all time. Second goes to Mario kart DS (I Love It) and third goes to Mass Effect 1. I think ME2 is supperior in every way except not having the Mako esque missions. I miss riding on those empty planets. I thought it was so cool, The sky alone gave it so much atmosphere. I never liked Saren as an antagoist. He always came off as your typical bad guy. In ME2 your enemy is the whole galaxy which makes for many exciting encounters and not just Geth everywhere. I LOVED the enemy variety in the sequel
