Hey guys. I'm new around here and was wondering if someone could help me out.
I understand you get specialization points at certain levels, and can only use two. My question is, I'm at a certain part in the game where I'm offered to learn a specialization. Can I learn it now, and chose not to use it? I don't want to say yes to this one if it's going to screw me over in learning another one (which I want more).
Thanks a bunch.
Specialization question...

You don't have to pick one now.Wait until the one you want opens up and then pick.

Appreciated, but can I pick this one up... then keep it on the sidelines (not using it) so to speak until the one I want comes up?

Once you use a specialization point, you can never undo the choice. Ever.
But. You don't need to use the specialization you pick, since you just need to choose the talents for it like everything else (i.e. archery). You can ignore the talents and pick them later, after you get the second specialization.

You can "learn" as many specializations as you want from npc's throughout the game. This just unlocks the specializations. Then at 7th and 14th level you get one point to spend on one of the specializations you've unlocked. But you can only spend your point on a specialization that is for of your class. Then you get to spend talent points on that specialization's list of talents. I think this is the information you were after. I hope it helps.

When you choose a Specialisation, it will unlock a new line of Talents on the last level up page.. You do not have to put any points in these talents until you wish to do so.

I just signed up just so I can make sure that I'm clear on this because I had the same question. My story is that I unlocked shapeshifting as a mage, but then I found out that I can only have 2 specializations. I really only want arcane warrior and blood mage. Am I going to be able to do this still?
I can't even go back to my older saves. Everytime I do I see that shapeshifting is unlocked even when the option to learn shapshifting from Morrigan's discussion is open. Weird since I already know it...

You can unlock four Specialisations for each class. If you have chosen to learn one on the level up screen, when you finish levelling there is no going back.
If you haven't chosen Shapeshifting on the level up screen, then you can still choose the two specialisations you want, once you've learned them mate.
