There are two students in my school that moved here two years ago from Peru, and just recently, their mom came in and cooked a Peruvian dish for Spanish Club and La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. She made this sauce-like stuff in a blender out of chicken, aji (like a chili), onions, herbs and some other stuff that I don't remember, after frying and sautéing all of it. Then, it was served poured over lettuce, tomato, baked potatoes, and hard-boiled eggs. It was delicious, but I can't recall what the recipe was called.

@Statulos: I don't recall you saying where you were from, but I'm curious -- have you ever tried huevos de toro? I'm going to Italy, Greece, and Spain after I graduate, and I'm especially excited to eat in Spain.

I'm not sure what dish that is-- I don't really know Peruvian cuisine all that well-- but I know that various types of pollo peruano (sometimes baked, sometimes roasted or grilled, sometimes with a kind of garlic sauce) are probably some of the best known Peruvian dishes outside of Peru.  They don't really have special names that I know of... just pollo al horno peruano, etc.  But like I said, I'm not sure about the dish you were describing.  Sounds good though!

As for balls... they've been a somewhat popular topic of discussion recently.  :D  For my part, though, I've never had them... that I know of.

I wouldn't mind trying some, but I think I'll avoid the camel variety.

Edit: I realized I really backed myself into a corner with that "I've never really had them" statement.  Oh well.  I'll leave it as is.
