Wow I'm really surprised more people didn't faithful-ize Liara + Ash... Ash gets so much hate that I figured everyone picked Liara.

I pick Liara not because I like her better than Ash (I like Ash better) but because I simply can never pick Ash in the big Virmire choice (I don't particularly enjoy talking to Kaiden, but he's simply the more valuable skill-set and I feel irresponsible as a Commander picking her over him).

If I do another playthrough I'm going to do a no-romance Mass Effect 1 and Tali Mass Effect 2.

I also wonder, to expand on this question, how many people let their love interest survive? In my first playthrough I thought the ending was soooooooooo much more powerful because Tali died (while holding the doors, so it was totally random and gut wrenching).

For my first playthrough, I was put off by Liara's behavior, so I started with Tali just to find out if you saw her face. But the more I talked with her and realized how much she actually cares for you, she became my official LI going forward.

For my femshep playthrough, I stayed loyal to Liara. After finding out what she really did for you, I felt bad about cheating on her with my male Shep. Kelly's lapdances aren't considered cheating, right?

For femshep Garrus and Thane IMO. Jacob is...Jacob. But who knows? Forum is just a small sample of fanbase.

For the forum population, Tali, fo sho.

For the general population of more casual gamers, Miranda, no comp.

For femsheps, I'd say Thane, I dunno.

It would be easy to say Miranda, based on the facts that most people play the game as a male Sheperd and they go out of their way to stick that ass in your face. Then again, most people that play games don't bother to complete them and thus wouldn't get to the romance. Or wouldn't bother with it, even if they made it that far. So, it may very well be Tali. Who knows?

I did a renegade female Sheperd run and chose Garrus, just to see what the fuss was about. It was so hilariously awkward. He basically says he's not physically attracted to you in the slightest. He's just down for whatever, because he respects you so much. You get the sense that a male Sheperd could proposition him and he'd react the same way.

I'd have to say Miranda, because she's the easiest, then Jacob for femSheps for the rest of the world.

For forum goers, Tali, Miranda, then Garrus in that order.

In this forum? Rabid Talites take all. Over all across the general/casual ME2 population? Most likely Miranda. (note: this is based on my own assumptions and construes no air of true fact therein.)

Most likely.  For femsheps, probably Thane.

Personally, I stayed loyal to Liara on any save with her, and my next romance was Tali.  I'll romance Thane at some point, not sure if I'll romance anyone else (maybe Garrus).  Miranda has a nice bod, but I consider her personality defective.

So far i either picked:
1 Tali (Was well Worth it)
1 Jack (Disappointed me a little in the end - But i guess the Renegade Jack option is a little more thrilling)
1 Noone - Faithful Liara
1 Noone - Kelly (WIP)

I won't touch Miranda with a Stick. She would have to pay me to do her and not some insignificant amount of money. (Oh and about the butt... i'd go with Samara instead of Miranda. Samara got the much sexier one.  Though i prefer Jacks look.)

So far, it's been Thane. With a sprinkle of Garrus or Kaidan here and there.

Tali, for mshep.

For me, Miranda requires unfair choices and Jack scares me, so the default is Tali.

Yup. Although I did romance with Miranda before suicide mission, and after I told her it wouldn't work and got romance scene with Tali. Pitty you can't have both, still disappointed with my Ash/Liara confrontation in ME1, dammit Ash you would have lived if you said yes!!! Obviously I went for Liara, which I liked far more then Ash.

Anyway - Miranda - very nice ass, especially in loyalty costume. Tali - very cute, although I think she would smell of antibiotics/the medicine smell *yuck*.

You must be smoking some serious ****, tell me where you get it.

There is no way even the casual femShep player is going to go for Jacob, they force the romance flirting so early before you even trust this strange Cerberus guy on your ship that it ruin's any chance of it happening for many people even if they would have considered it other wise.

And even if you try to stomach it to get his non romance dialog, no matter how hard you try to shoot the idea of a romance down, even if there is no chance of it happening, femShep still ****s it up with him in every converstion.

Common? Tali for ME1 old schoolers and Miranda for everyone else, probably. I love Jack, I really do, but I think her relationship with MShep works much better as a Big Brother-Little Sister kind of deal.  I intend for my Renegade Shep to be the Richard B. Riddick to her ... uh, Jack.

Tali, well, I'll probably create a Sentinel who goes down that path, but my "Canon" Sheps certainly won't.

Miranda gets high marks from me just because the kiss scene is really well done. With Jack and Tali, Shepard sort of has to "actively" pursue them... with Miranda I can see the relationship happening accidentally, and that makes Shep "cheating" on his ME1 LI more plausible to me.

I imagine there are plenty of FemSheps who stayed loyal to Liara or had a fling with Kelly. Especially when played by the guys... as for straight pairings, hmm. Maybe Garrus is the most popular? I'm not a fan of the pairing, but I know plenty of people are... hence his being an option in ME2. I like the FemShep/Thane romance.

FemShep/Jacob makes me uncomfortable because of "the priiiize". I much preferred the way my MShep interacted with the guy than I did my FemShep.

Garrus and then Thane for FSheps.

Although, it's really hard to say. I know that Thane and Garrus have put some divisiveness into the pool of fangirls around here. Thane and Garrus are very different flavors, so I think for women it just depends on what you like. While I appreciate certain aspects of Thane's romance (he suits my more troubled Renegon FShep), Garrus is my go-to for my canon Paragon FShep (who did romance Liara in ME1, but I think that will make great drama in ME3 so I'm sticking with Garrus.)

When playing as broShep:

I have ALWAYS been with Liara and loyal accross all three games.

In ME1 Ash was SUCH an ass and Liara was sweet (Liara made me want to choose the Paragon path and be a better Shep). Not to mention that Ash is an outwardly spoken racist.

There weren't very many good alternatives in ME2 to even make me want to "cheat" on Liara
I was excited to meet Liara in ME2 and legitimately sad when she didn't join the team. The after getting the DLC I was worried she'd choose her Drell friend over Shep, ernest jealousy. When launching the suicide mission and Shep just looks at the pic of Liara was so much more touching than a pre-mission bang.

Then rescuing Liara and establishing a true relationship in ME3 was awesome. Charaters having true adult conversations dealing with past (death and Cerberus), present (war), future (chances of surviving and life-cycle difference), family (blue children and connecting Liara with her "dad").
Combating these issues built a stronger bond between Liara and Shep than any of the other relationships where the emotions are more surface level or purely physical.

Shep doesn't see Liara as "Dat ass" or "bangin hips" they have LOVE (although Bioware gave her a slammin figure in ME3!). I was afraid to have her on missions because I wanted her to be safe on the Normandy. She was a doctor a part of the intelligence crew, not a soldier. But she was a characer that I trusted most and wanted on the final mission (and too Garrus of course).

I'm sure this all seems sappy, but as a married man, my wife and I agree that the Liara and Shep relationship is clearly the best, because, it is the truest relationship based on mutual respect, love, and attraction.
