in the past? Jacob kind of alluded to it... but I never got the rest of the story. Did they use to be an item? I need to know this before I try to make her my wife. She might be damaged goods boys.

I think they sort of had a thing going at some point, but later on he says "She deserves a better man than I." Guess it didn't work out. :/

Also at the end of Jacob's quest, Miranda implies she cared more about Jacob than he thought she did.

All tongue and cheek comment aside, this is acutally something I have wondered at as well. At the close of Jacob's Loyalty Quest, we learn that it was in fact Miranda that had the information about Jacob's Father forwarded to the Normandy. When pressed as to why she did it, Miranda says something to the effect of, "I always keep my promises." And the look both she and Jacob exchange in that moment really hints at a romantic history between the two of them. Sadly, I don't have an iphone so I was unable to play ME: Galaxy which first introduced both Jacob and Miranda. I watch a few YouTube clips of the gameplay, so I know it concludes with Miranda surprising Jacob in his quarters with some glasses and a bottle of Champaign. When ME2 came out, I always figured Shepard might end up comming between Miranda and Jacob, and you would have to choose between Jacob's loyalty or a Romance with Miranda. It didn't go that way, but still it's good to know I wasn't the only one who gave this a thought.

I like that the game alluded to something between them in the past, but nothing now. Really makes them feel like real characters with a real past. I wish we had gotten some more info on it (can't play ME Galaxies). But it's obvious she has a certain fondness for him. If you pick him to be the first fire team leader she seems to approve anyway. I like their platonic relationship because it shows Miranda isn't always cold.

If you play the Mass Effect IPhone game that Bioware put out, it answers that question. The answer is Yes btw, they did have a thing/fling.

Probably. Uncertain as to how long/how serious it was. Long discussion about it on the Miranda thread the other day. Didn't last probably due to some combination of Miranda's intimacy issues, Jacob's confidence issues, and the Lazarus project taking up all Miranda's time.
Personally, I think it adds to Miranda's character that she's a mature woman who has been in serious relationships before.

They had something going, but neither of them goes very in depth into it in their discussions with Shepard. Jacob just says that they hooked up, but it didn't work out because she needed a better man.
I guess it is up to the player to decide whether or not things progressed far enough to the point that they slept with each other, but I think it is much more likely they did have sex than not.

I'll use the Enkindlers to translate that as "shallow and afraid, coupled with arrogant and unable to think three steps ahead" Given the dialog choices she had, at one point I was seriously wondering exactly how she pulled the Lazarus project off, because her lateral thinking and problem solving skills are ****** poor at best.
At least she has flotation devices to sail the sea of testosterone.

Miranda stopped talking to me straight after Jacob revealed his previous relationship with her.
Did anyone else have this?
We were getting along really well before this had happened, she is still loyal, as i sided with her instead of Jake who is still not loyal even though I have 95% Paragon..
It does not seem as though everyone has the same play though.. I have read that you only needed 75% to get Jake back to loyal status.
I already have the IFF so it seems as though she will die, which is a bummer
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
