hi,

(i've just finished the ostagar-stuff, and did the quest to get shale, and i've arrived at Redcliffe. please do not tell me unnecessary spoilers :-)

so i'm in Redcliffe, i'm a rogue, and i have big problems with Morrigan, and her approval-ratings. i usually play as a 'good' character, and everytime i agree to help somebody, morrigan's approval-rating goes down by 5.
i only arrived in Redcliffe 5 minutes ago, and i already lost 10 points in her approval-rating :(.

i need a mage in my party, so i'd like to keep her, and i like her personality and comments too, but it's getting very frustrating to keep losing the approval-rating just by playing the game like i like to play it.

is there a way to solve this problem, or should i just give up on her, and find a different mage (as far as i know, there is one more mage in the game.. somewhere)? i've read that i can use gifts to raise the approval-rating, but can i just buy an infinite amount of those gifts and 'compensate' every such situation, or is there only a limited amount of them in the game?

thanks,
gabor

I play a good character and she was at like 39 after I got done talking to her. Of course I toss her gifts every time I can since she hates helping people out, but then I choose the dbag option and get a +10, so it can't be that bad.

Morrigan is a fickle creature, my friend. That's just her personality. If you go the "nice" route, she will usually disapprove. If you decide to be selfish and rude, she will warm up to you.

I suggest talking to her whenever you have an opportunity, and pick the responses you think she will like. Do this at the party camp, or in towns. Once her approval is up to a pretty good level, you can make your "nice guy" choices and it won't put you into the negatives. Morrigan has a soft spot for jewellery, so if you have appropriate gifts, toss them her way.

Don't obsess too much over the approval unless it gets really, really low.

Yeah, this is the reason I canned her and left her at camp.

Maybe will use her in another play through.

I love morrigan's wickedness but shes not going with my righteous dwarf warrior very well :( All she does is moan I am helping people.. I should slay her.

Heh. I just have problems playing bad people.

Well in ME I don't but I also don't have people whining that they'll leave.

I tend to play a Chaotic Good character so we get along fairly well, try to actively increase your own power. Also talk to her and say things that she'll like. Just don't be mean to her.

I play a good character and she is above 90, try to sometimes act a bit more greedy, it never hurts to ask what your reward will be, or ask for a better reward. And most of all talk to her and choose the right dialogue options hen you do so and give her gifts she likes, at some point you get a quest from her and than it starts to skyrocket.

Or just leave her out of the party while accepting the "nice" quests :)

Yep. Try different party members out for different quests.

Good thing then my character is jumping between looking out for herself, and actually being kind. I try to be a bit realistic about it, being the goody two shoes that always says no to reward is just unrealistic!
