Co-op

While a campaign and boss encounters as epic as D:AO would be awesome to co-op, the game wasn't built from the ground up to be multiplayer. I think it would be great to have a multiplayer rpg with story, epic scale, and boss battles, and text etc. But we'll have to wait for that... At least until SW:TOR comes out.

You made another PC for player 2?AClockworkMelon wrote...
DA:O has ten times as much dialogue as any of the games you listed. This game is far more NPC-centric than any of those games were. You're going to constantly be engaged in dialogue. If you played the campaigns co-op for BG or NWN, that second player doesn't get ANY dialogue with NPCs. It's just a ghost character who walks along with you killing stuff.
The way we always did it is that additional players took control of NPCs.

Fallout 3 anybody???
obviously as has been said, there cant be an RPG w/ Co-op as a result of the story being built around the PC-NPC-WORLD interactions. It would be like Final Fantasy X having a co-op option, just doesnt sound right?
Now, what Bioware could and in my opinion should do, is since they allready have the basis of "uploading" characters, they should develop a seperate either patch or platform to host Co-op/multiplayer action.
Something where you can play offline in the main objective of DA, and then upload your character and continue your adventure with other PC's. Obviously this could present problems with the people who will play the 100 or so hours straight through, but i can foresee numerous people willing and able to go online or console to play with other PC's
They could have something along the lines of Guild wars (rogues vs. Mages--------obviously the rogues would win
All in all, either way this game sets the bar for future RPG's and Bioware has outdone themselves yet again
Join this group and maybe we can do something about it -------------> social.bioware.com/group/176/

I love my husband, but trust me playing alone is much preferable to me. We just don't have the same sort of play styles, and tend to tick each other off when playing.Whist Darkblade wrote...
honeslty, what is better than sitting next to your friend (girlfriend in my case - she loves DA almost more than I do, and im not sure if that is possible) Mountian Dew with in reach, and facing the Darkspawn together?

- Singleplayer
- Multiplayer client
- Dungeon Master Client
All those three selectable from the launcher.
After a few months with the singleplayer campaign I hope they release an expansion or even a patch that will address the multiplayer features. With them you could do the singleplayer original campaign co-op, create persistent worlds or share online moduled adventures with your buddies.

That would be doable with the toolset. If they created a multiplayer client then you could modify the modules (modules being the worlds where the characters play) so that they allow freedom for every player in a multiplayer session.Whist Darkblade wrote...
what would be sweet is if Bioware or the Devs came up with Co-op content that DID NOT require the PC's to stick together. So they could wander the world and do what they want
Its not like it hasnt been done before. As I said .... neverwinter nights had this implemented and it worked just fine.
