But yes, doing suicide run on Omega 4 early would have been badass, if only for  joke value. I cant imagine what would be going on TIMs head after finding out that he just thew several billion credits down the drain by resurrecting this ******...

One problem, Nihlus keeps forgetting to turn his shields on so he does not get killed by a single pistol round fired by a turian traitor.

It was a point blank shot. Shields can't protect against that.

Which is why my vanguard shoulder bashes claymore wielding krogan? 
There's like 3 cinematic examples of shepard's shields protecting him from point blank shots.
2 with pistols and one with a shotgun. the shotgun was fired from about 4 feet.

Well thats gameplay. The science behind it if you read the codex says a point blank shot would penetrate the shields.

After I managed to save the whole Crew on my first playthrough I tried to use teh Omega-4 relay and was disapointed that it wouldn't let me through to my death... I wanted to see a truely stupid death.

4 feet isn't really point blank. You see the outline of the shields around your character when they power back up. If the gun is fired inside that bubble, shields won't do anything. I don't recall seeing any cutscenes where shields are treated differently.

Most likely Saren had good phasic rounds. Ripped right through Nihlus's shields to the back of his head. Instadeath for realism purposes.

So thats the secret behind the Red ring and Blue screen of  death... no wonder MS had bioware took  out jumping through the Omega 4  rely from the start
