Would Jack be more popular if she had great hair ?

it would be nice to see her image toned down a bit in ME3 though but only if you import a ME2 game where Shepherd befriends and/or paragon-romances her

I liked Miranda because of her Australian accent. First time I've heard one in a game... that I recall anyway.
Her breasts were totally secondary to that.(And I like Jack just the way she is... But being a woman, I'm not as shallow as some men.

Lol, most men are that shallow, why i think people would have liked her better if she had a more voluptuous body, than whether or not she had hair. But being a man, I don't really care about the looks of video game characters
In all seriousness, I don't understand the dismissive attitude of "it's just pixels". It might be animated, it might be computer generated, but it's still art. You don't go around telling someone that a painting is "just a painting", do you? Asethetics are quite important, and it's more than just beauty, it's a whole sense of the world around you. A game like Mass Effect 2 is meant to immerse you in a different reality... Ah, but I'm waxing lyrical about one of my favorite art forms, so forgive me.
I'm appreciative of all art forms, no matter the medium, and yes I do believe games are art... But I do not bring my preferences into mind when viewing such art.. To look at a sculpture and say "She's too thick for my tastes", or a game and say "She's not as busty as I'd like", or a painting and say "She doesn't look like a girl I'd want to sleep with" is just weird... To me, she's just an in game character, and while I can admire how she was made, I wouldn't ever really want to change her to fit my preferences. No point.

I wish they'd have offered a less-revealing outfit option for her. A guy friend of mine, on the other hand, doesn't mind her tattoos at all; it's her lack of hair he can't stand. *shrugs* To each their own
They did.
Once she is at peace with herself, she can wear a top.
Oh I know, I just wish it didn't look like silver body paint with that tiny strap still covering her female-bits. If they had made it an actual shirt the same size, I'd have been much happier hehe.

sure Jack would look better if she had hair, wasn't completely covered in tattoos and maybe smiled once in a while... but then she wouldn't be Jack. her appearance fits her personality, and she's not trying to be liked (even though deep down she wants to be)

Sadly enough, with Jack it's a case of romance her or... romance her?
She doesn't respond well to someone befriending her and then not sleeping with her... It's worse for Female Sheps, because she (after mentioning a menage a trois she had with a man and woman early on in her storyline) will tell them to **** off, she's not into girls (maybe she was going through a heteroflexible phase at that point in her life?). There's nothing you can do after that, because she's all "go away and leave me alone".

It's hard to talk to her, but I actualy believe that is by design. You can't say anything "right" with her, she will always say something back.
Found it especialy a nice touch, how she completely blows you off if you accept her proposal for casual sex.

Even if she weren't dressed like a post apocalyptic prostitute, her personality still puts me off; but if Bioware hadn't made such a juvenille warddrobe choice I would have at least given her a chance. As it is she's just a walking joke as far as I'm concerned.
Seriously Bioware just give the girl a tank top, she looks cold.

Speaking for myself, the answer is no. Miranda is far more a teamplayer and understands the importance of the mission you are on. Jack on the other hand, I wish I had the option to leave her on Purgatory.
As for ME3, I made sure she died in all my playthroughs, so I can't help ya there.
You can leave her. You don't need to recruit all the party members to succeed in the mission.

A shallow question I know, but I noticed how unpopular she is and wondered what the reasons were especially when I compared her to Miranda. I know most people liked Miranda for her .. appearance and character second. But what if Jack had a full head of hair, would that change her preconceptions ?
Nope; my dislike for Jake is because of her character. There's no accounting for taste, but Jack is something I would have written up as a RPG character when I was 10, or something. Yes Miranda does have more... err... assets then Jack, both at the front and the back, at least she comes across as well written to me.

Yes lets make Jack so plain ordinary just like all the rest.
Heaven forbid a character be 'different from the norm' <_<
Jack should keep the haircut, I really hope the devs don't listen to you sad shallow jerks.

Miranda evolves and admits that she is not perfect despite her genetic modifications, she does not close herself off from evolving as a person if proven wrong. Jack just denies anything that threatens her view of herself as the ultimate victim and for good meature throws in a "**** you" and "I´m a dangerous ****, fear me".
I think if you could evolve her character without paragon romancing her would have endeared her more than hair or any estetic alternative.

She is a beautiful woman.... however, her constant "I´m a dangerous **** that do what I want and I´ll crush you with my biotics if I simply feel like it. Everyone hates me and want to lay me and then kill me cause I´m a dangerous ****" and her comment on her loyalty mission "I had it the worst and I survived (cause I´m a ****)" or whatever the quote was completely put me off.
it sounds like you went into it wanting to dislike her. everything in quotations from your post is a caricature.

Too many tattoos, unstable mental health, clothes that look as if she found them from garbage can.
//edit: And yes, hair is not an issue.

Her first outfit is rather meh, but her loyalty outfit is as it should be, fits her perfect.
Her face is rather beatifull if you look at it proper, where Miranda has a man-jaw.
She softens up ALOT if you treat her good, you can even convince her to not kill (as many) ppl!
Sure she has a kinda juvenile attitude with all the **** you's and **** that's, but again, spend time with her and she matures.
As for her with hair, i think if she would grow some, it would be like a bowl/bob cut
Only annoyed by not being able to romance her as female shep (who has the best looks of all characters in the game!
