Eh, she's okay. I like broken characters, I just wish I could fix her without f*cking her.

In Mordin's voice: I never thought it like that. Implications of this assumption disturbing.

I think more people would fine her intriguing if she wasn't bald and had less tattoo's, simply too much.

The "attitude" would still be there but it would have a slightly diminished effect, since she would be more "woman like".

Miranda is for the most part more or less just as much of a b*tch as Jack.

I kinda find Miranda's butt to be a little bit big and at times borderline sagging.

it sounds like you went into it wanting to dislike her. everything in quotations from your post is a caricature.

Maybe I should have skipped the quotation mark cause I couldnt remember the exact quote, however that was the message she sent, atleast how I received it.

And no I did not go in hating her, I went in suspicious of Miranda but I was very excited about Jack after her FFTL video, and the first two playthroughs I was mostly neutral/borderline acceptance of her character... but now she gets on my nerves for the reasons I mentioned.

fair enough. i don't expect everyone to like her. but she *does* grow as a character if you romance her (though not if you bed her at the first opportunity)..

Yeah I think I mentioned that didn´t I? That she would be more endearing as a character if you were able to evolve her without seeking a romantic relationship? That´s the real issue in my mind, right now she just seems hellbent on being the victim regardless of what she learns.

Spoilers.

Yeah I just played through on my guy and decided to do the Paragon romance option for her, and it's very touching. Her outward attitude is a heavy defense barrier, something she's grown as a result of years of abuse and betrayal. Her life has been ****, and everyone she has known has either abused her, or betrayed her. Her comments on her loyalty mission are a result of her facing facts contrary to her beliefs. She HAD to believe, to sustain whatever sanity she had left, that she was the toughest, the roughest, and that she had it the worst.

The one person who truly loved her sacrificed himself to save her, further cementing her desire not to get close. She uses sex as a shield (instead of a weapon like some people), saying, hey, all they want is my body. It's easier for her like that. It's easier for her to accept, because if people get close, something bad always happens. She doesn't know how to handle it.

In many ways, she never got to emotionally mature beyond the small, hurt girl being tortured in the Teltin Facility on Pragia, where for years, she was abused and conditioned. She got out, and did little more than survive. She NEVER had a CHANCE to have a normal life, it was stolen from her by that Cerberus splinter group. When forced to face real, genuine feelings, she closes up. She tells you to **** off, but deep inside, she wants that closeness, she needs it, and the ending of the Paragon romance with her has her breaking down and admitting she's not the tough, all powerful **** she says she is, that she is a human being, and needs to feel loved, and needed.

Very deep character, and I was very touched by her story.

Very well written. ^_^

Just before you break her barriers, i remeber her telling me about that guy. He trully loved her ... and she didn't believe him. Once he died for her it broke her heart.

And now she is facing it all again, with Shepard.

It wasn't her lack of hair that did her in as a character for me.  Nor was it her tatoos, nor her 'tude.

I love strong women, I find them so much more appealing than the batting eyelashes/damsel in distress archetype *stares coldly at Liara*

What turned me off of her was how she crumbled (quite predictably might I add) and exposed her soft, squishy interior so to speak after her loyalty mission.  I had my suspicions right from the get-go about her, and when she bawled her eyes out they were confirmed.
She was never the strong woman she fronted herself as.  She talked a big game, and stared everyone in the room down with a dagger-like glare, but I knew she was just a scared little girl on the inside.  Her badass persona was but a facade to hide the damaged goods within, which is fine for some, I guess.
I think Bioware had a really great thing going with her at least in the planning stages.  She had a great visual direction, and her personality/characterization would have been great had they hit their mark.  But they lost their focus somewhere along the way and failed to shore up her inner strength, and overcompensated with random expletives and tats.  Body art and F-Bombs =/= strength.

So, Jack isn't as popular with me at least, because Bioware promised a badass, no-nonsense woman the likes of which I make a point to get the numbers of in my day to day.  But instead of delivering on that promise, I got a load of false bravado, and overcompensation with a weak creamy filling.  It's Ashley Williams 2.0.

Which for some is fine, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that type of character development.  I just personally feel like I was bait-and-switched on Jack's account, I was hoping for something different.

I just don't like characters like this. Part of the problem was the ridiculousness in getting her recruited. It makes no sense. You're asked to go and fetch a powerful sociopathic biotic killer who hates Cerberus to help you on a mission for Cerberus?

Her outwardly angst punk cyberpunk image also irritates me. I tried to get her killed on the final mission.

Right but  you should have  known is it was a front. No matter how badass we make ourselves everyone is soft  on the inside.

I see your point it was a bit of a Rick Roll... one I saw coming but still a Rick Roll

For the first part, you're fetching a powerful biotic(Hello, you're looking for the best) who hates cerberus; but the mission is for humanity and in your control, not cerberus.

And the second part is just kind of childish. :?

Miranda
evolves and admits that she is not perfect despite her genetic
modifications, she does not close herself off from evolving as a person
if proven wrong. Jack just denies anything that threatens her view of
herself as the ultimate victim and for good meature throws in a "****
you" and "I´m a dangerous ****, fear me".

I think if you could
evolve her character without paragon romancing her would have endeared
her more than hair or any estetic alternative.

Looking for the best, sure. But the Illusive Man gave you the dossier on this. It was not a chance find.

By the way, I think the idea of him deciding you should recruit a Justicar also makes as little sense.

She'd be more visually appealing, but i dunno I'd like her more. She's an absolute ass. Ok, she has reasons for being the way she is, but she's still an ass.

Her act was a lot less endearing than the similar "angry at the world" act of Morrigan. It wasn't the lack of hair it was the childishness of it all. She's like a bad throw back to high school and someone trying very hard to be "hard" and failing miserably at it. The only thing missing from her is some rant about how she hates daddy's money.

Of course it wasn't a chance find, the whole game focuses on you recruiting a team, a very specific team... :pinched:

Really  not recruiting a Justicar ... who are more elite than Asari Commandos.... *Sits down*  I'm all ears  on this I wanted  the logic behind this.

So why should you not be Recruiting Samara?

I like Jack the way she is. Her lack of hair didn't bother me. :) (But not as a LI. She needs years in therapy, not sexual healing. Also, she tells fem!Sheperd to **** off in the end. *shrugs* Would have liked to do more with her friendship wise.)

Although I found her "top" distracting... She doesn't wear very practical clothes... but I guess that doesn't matter much with her being such a powerful biotic.

Heh, yeah... I LOVED Jack, but you just can't be too nice to her or she takes it the wrong way. I tried playing it a bit more cool in that late-game convo and she seemed less intimidated by the emotional intimacy that way.

Jack is just so great a character. I loved what was there, but wished for more. They made her such a sympathetic character that I really wanted to be there for her.

As to hair--I like her this way, but if she grew any hair, I'd just expect it to be either short, tight black braids all over her head or just a few wavy strips of hair to frame her face and some locks on her scalp, with the lower half still shaved and most of it tamed in some way. Definitely either black or some kind of funky-colored thing, like dark blue or dark purple or dark green or dark red or some/all of the above.

Whatever they did, it should still be a little bit freaky and edgy. Jack wouldn't be Jack with a Miranda hairstyle, or anything tamer than what she's already got. And I hope she keeps the vest--I like it.

well if we give her the same hair style as Miranda we can just laugh at her or maybe she would be intrested in this nice assortment of wigs which Tali has
